The accommodation is in a very quiet and pleasant area, but still close to everything. It’s easy to reach, and the ocean is just a short walk away. The room was very clean and well-equipped with everything I needed. The host was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again!

That was our best stay in Costa Rica. Julien, the host, has a pure heart full of love for flora, fauna and is a great example of living a pura vida. He gave us best advices of the area, showed us around the property and village. Casa Mambo is very cozy, comfortable and really close to the beach. Breakfasts there were super delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer. Once we get back to CR, we will definately go to Casa Mambo.

Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Thank you, Fernando, for making our stay so special.

Excellent location in Cahuita - beach right in front, restaurants nearby, cca 15 mins to the main road and centre, so still quiet but in reachable destination to all that you need in such a location. absolutely amazing garden - a national park itself :-) an enthusiastic owner that shows you all the animals and tells everything in a friendly tone. all the service from the owners was excellent, including recommended contacts for guides, rentals and transfer to San Jose - many thanks!

Unique, wildly beautiful treehouse room with huge trunks, crossing the space, creating a romantic, rustic feel. Absolutely try to get this room if you can. There is no aircon, but it’s also not needed as it gets surprisingly chilly at night. The best thing is waking up to the sound of Caribbean waves, howler monkeys and tropical birds. Priceless!

The bathrooms were fantastic. A Big shower in the bedroom that worked perfectly with good pressure and temperature. The kitchen had everything we needed. The whole property was clean, well built and well maintained. It was nice and quiet and only a very short walk into town. Valentina was very helpful and friendly. She answered all questions we had and gave us a little map to use for getting around town. She gave us good recommendations where to eat and where we should visit while there.

Cahuita Inn is an oasis on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Exceptional value for money, standing out head and shoulders above anything else we found in Costa Rica in this mid range price bracket. Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep.
