Stunning location, right next to the river. Probably as remote and quiet as you can get within Germany. The bus drops you off right in front of the building. The room was spacious and comfortable. There is a microwave, kettle, and fridge, but it's best if you bring your own plates/cutlery. Smooth self check-in. The vibe is a bit outdated but everything you need is there. Would absolutely go again.

We really liked everything and everyone involved. We thought breakfast and dinner were fabulous. Views of the Bavarian countryside from the restaurant and our room with balcony were splendid. Excellent outdoor areas for swimming and lounging. Sunsets at dinner were nature at its best. Food always high quality, fresh and beautifully served with a wide selection for all tastes. For breakfast, self service was easy and quick. Table service, for breakfast and dinner was fast and professional. Those serving us were very friendly and very capable. Our room was lovely. Beautifully desecrated, spacious, with a two person bathroom (separate Loo) and very large Smart TV's. Super comfortable bed. Cleaners left everything spotless. Birkenhof is a tribute to the professionalism of its owners and staff. Five stars are not enough. What more could one want?
