He is also a great raconteur and knows the history, myths and folklore of the place. He is very rooted and invested in his community and deeply concerned about ethical business practices. Staying with Christi was one of the highlights of my travels. A delightful, warm and smiling hostess whose aim is her guest's happiness. Fluent English so we had some wonderful, interesting conversations - I learned a lot about Angami culture and history of the region. Don't miss her cooking which is FABULOUS ... full of flavour, easy on the spice. The accomodation is good value - a large room with shared bathroom with plenty of hot water. About a 25 minute walk to Bamboo Mkt. Maple Homestay is priced for the budget traveller (shared bathroom) but her hospitality and cooking should be a draw for all budgets.
