Very nice and traditional ryokan renovated 3 years ago with a lot of luxurious taste. The hallway to eat diner and breakfast is amazing dated from edo period. Rooms are modern and spacious. The chef was working in refined restaurant in Tokyo before and he is cooking an amazing food, the best I had during my trip in nagano. Staff was nice and friendly. I really recommend.

The service was beyond excellent. I cannot commend the staff enough for their kindness and commitment to making sure we were fully taken care of. In particular, the gentleman who speaks English, he made sure to always check in with us / follow through with whatever we needed. I also loved the fact that there are private onsen rooms, AND private indoor / outdoor onsens available for booking (since both of us have tattoos).

Among all the wonderful properties we visited during our driving tour of Japan, this one stood out as the highlight. Loved my stay here and cannot recommend it enough! The building itself is an experience to stay in; very nostalgic and cozy. Bunk beds were comfy and clean. As others have mentioned, remember to bring your own groceries as the food in Magome town is quite limited. Make sure to check out the gymnasium!

Ties campground was an absolute pleasure. All the fun of camping with almost none of the work! The host was fantastic and kind and the place had absolutely everything we needed. The foot bath was a welcome addition after a long day of trekking in the rain!
