Although the Casita is the little studio cottage on the property it felt very private. Excellent bathroom and bedroom. Perfect for a couple passing through De Rust for a few nights. Rus in De Rust is probably one of the nicest places we have stayed before

Wonderful, friendly, Karoo hospitality. Small boutique hotel in a small town in the Little Karoo. Fabulous food. Ostrich steaks. Selection of local wines and artisinal beers. Classic Movie nights. Showers and baths with lots of hot water. Good cooked breakfast. The decor is original from the time when the hotel was opened in 1950's. There are many art works by local artists. Location. The scenery and friendly host. Barry took us on an unplanned 4 X 4 trip to explore the farm which was amazing and much appreciated. A wild tortoise welcomed us and there was a good verity of birds.
