Impeccable accommodation, excellent hot spring bath on the roof with all amenities provided, including pajamas and tabi socks! Breakfast was superior!

Located in Matsushima, 10 km from Shiogama Shrine, Matsushima Koumura features accommodation with a hot tub and a public bath. There is a private entrance at the ryokan for the convenience of those who stay. The ryokan provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The hosts were amazingly friendly, and gave us a very thorough and energetic welcome at the front desk (prepare for a quiz!). This ryokan is well-located though we went there by car.

Offering a fitness centre free of charge, Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East has direct access to Sendai Station. Free WiFi is available in all rooms.

All rooms have air conditioning, a desk, safety deposit box, TV, refrigerator and hairdryer. The private bathroom comes with towels, slippers and free toiletries. Huge rooms! Biggest we stayed in Japan . King bed is good size. Bathroom was excellent. Located at the station with easy access to shopping and food. They have self laundry on 2 floors . Wonderful stay. Very comfortable.

Situated in Takagi, 11 km from Shiogama Shrine, Bridge33 CAFE AND HOSTEL features air-conditioned accommodation and a bar. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Sendai Toshogu is 23 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 23 km from the hostel. It's very clean and futon is very comfy. Please try their breakfast and pudding. It's awesome.

Set in Ishinomaki, within 37 km of Shiogama Shrine and 49 km of Sendai City Community Support Center, Tama Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant and as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Featuring free bikes, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hotel has family rooms. The owner was very accommodating and even drove us to the port to get to Tashirojima Island. You can also feed and play with the cats :)

Situated in Matsushima in the Miyagi region with Entsuin Temple nearby, Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse features accommodation with free private parking. Featuring a shared lounge, the 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Sendai Toshogu is 21 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 22 km from the guest house. I really enjoyed my time. The guesthouse is very close to everything that you need. More importantly, I was very warmly received. I will be returning soon.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Guests can enjoy the on-site private dining room. Free private parking is available on site. The staff were incredibly accommodating, their care and attention made our visit relaxed and joyful, the Kaiseki was excellent and well balanced, showcasing local delicacies and providing an excellent view into tradition. Being able to use the Onsen with a tattoo and not having to cover it up was a pleasant surprise, the Onsen was excellent and very clean (I only used the outside pool). We were picked up by their free shuttle bus at the Shinkansen station and dropped off as well. We have to thank all of the staff, but a special mention should be given to Meguro, who took great care of us.

Located right in front of Matsushima Bay, Komatsukan Kofu-tei offers accommodations with free wired internet access. Guests can refresh in the public hot-spring baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals in their rooms. A free shuttle is available from JR Matsushima Kaigan Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. I can not say enough about this hotel. First off, location location location. The views of matsushima bay and the little islands were breath taking. Now add the ability to soak in an onsen and enjoy those views? Phenomenal. The staff were next level and beyond attentive. From the welcome tea to the seven course dinner and amazing breakfast I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Located just 4.5 km from Sendai City Community Support Center, Sendai Guest House UMEBACHI provides accommodation in Sendai with access to a terrace, a shared lounge, as well as luggage storage space. Featuring a garden, the 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Relatively close to the station and the facilities were nice. My favorite part, however, was talking with the staff. Everyone, staff and other guests, was super nice and understanding making it my favorite part of my Japan trip so far. Especially how it was a great chance to meet lots of new people from all over Japan and the world and practice my Japanese with everyone working there. I would highly recommend!
