The Lodge is absolutely lovely, incredibly comfortable beds, spacious rooms, wonderful ensuite wiht bath tub that has views, grounds are beautiful. the entire team is freindly, helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. It's an elegant and refined choice with a personal touch thats not found in large hotels. The breakfast was perfect, fresh, quality, beautifully cooked, stunningly presented and the coffee is also great. The location is lovely, quiet, relaxing and picture perfect.

The location was 10 minute drive from the centre of Taupo, breakfast was excellent. Angie and Garth were incredibly friendly giving us help with places to eat and all around the local area. Despite the cold weather in New Zealand for summer we had a fire in the lodge to keep us warm.

Great accomodation with amazing view. Very private in somewhat secluded location but still close to city (by car). There was everything we needed and more (sweets and bubbles much appreciated). Definitely recommend.

Location: 5 out of 5. The estate is located at the highest part of the mountain in Lake Taupo. You can enjoy the beautiful sunrise, sunset and even stargazing right outside of the room. My wife and I even managed to catch Elon Musk's Starlink in action! Host: Fantastic hosts. Michelle and Peter are very friendly. Peter make great breakfast. 👍 Peter also brought us around the farm to feed the sheeps, cows and deers. The animals were super friendly and we were able to come up close with them. We had the best farmstay ever! We would highly recommend staying at Hilltop Whakaipo Estate for a minimum of 2 nights for the best farm stay experience.

What's not to like? The food at Huka Lodge is stunning, absolutely stunning and the staff are so friendly and helpful willing to do absolutely anything to make your stay that much better. The views from anywhere at the lodge are amazing as are the gardens and birdlife.
