We had a very pleasant stay at the Hongcun Nanhu Lake view hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They greeted us with refreshments on our arrival. They went out of their way to help us with our travel needs. For instance, they arranged a ride share for us so that we can arrive at the Yellow Mountain base the next morning before the first bus gets there to beat the crowd.

The location was close to everything i wanted to see and had great valet service. The breakfast catered to international travelers and there was pleantly of room for large groups of people. The breakfast staff was very attentive. The room was spacious and had a bathtub which was great for soaking in after a long day of sightseeing, also the shower was in a seperate location.

It was my first time staying in The Langham Hefei, though I can say it was my third as I extended my stay twice. The staff’s courtesy, warmth and right level of care started right at entry of the hotel lobby. The wall to wall and floor to ceiling marble can be cold, but The Langham Hefei ‘s lobby feels warm and happy due to its yellow hue lighting I believe. I could immediately smell flowers once I stepped in the lobby, pleasant but not overwhelming. It came from a huge bouquet composed of hundreds of pink lilies, not the pink roses representing The Langham worldwide. I prefer lily’s smell anyway. The bouquet is by the front desk, so one could enjoy the lilies while waiting for check-in. As a matter of fact, I waited no time. Ada Yang greeted me and checked me in within 2 minutes. I was very glad I moved from the other 5-star hotel which I had been told it was considered the ceiling of Hefei hotel scene. It took that hotel 10 minutes to check me in plus swiped my credit card on the wrong machine that caused the spending authority refused initially. The breakfast experience was also great! The Seasons restaurant has a big capacity so I was always able to be seated whenever I went down. House keeping also checks on guests each afternoon not see any additional help are needed. After two nights stay, I decided to change my original plan to continue staying at The Langham Hefei. It was again Ada Yang who helped me with the extension. She continued to be warm, professional and efficient. Due to my itinerary change, I extended my stay again. This time it was Kristen He (XIAO He) who helped me. From XIAO He I also experienced the Langham quality- courtesy, warmth,knowledge and efficiency. Being asked about absence of Langham’s pink uniform, she explained to me the responsibilities of each role and separation of roles in Langham’s efforts to optimize guests’ experience.She went extra miles to ask her manager’s permission to give me a complimentary Happy Hour.

There are many restaurants and a shopping centre within walking distance. There is a very nice pond behind the hotel, which is great for an evening stroll. There is a metro (Wandacheng) station about 10-15min away. Water and amenities were provided every day. Buffet lunch is served from 11:30 and includes an extensive choice of food.

A chillax yet peaceful with small animals farm which we could feed them each time we pass by (opposite of our villa)
