My children and I spent 5 wonderful days in la Quebrada Ecolodge- the "beach huts" were perfectly equipped and decorated with such attention to detail and love, the beds were comfortable, the clear and warm water in the swimming pool so appeasing- it really felt like paradise, luxurious and homely at the same time. It is ideally located, 5-10 mins walk from the beach and from the centre with sodas and eateries serving delicious food. It is also 10-15 mins drive to Las Catalinas and other fabulous beaches on the coast. A big thank you to Carmen and Christian who surpassed all our expectations. They treated us with such care and generosity, arranged an amazing horseriding tour on the beach with Eddy and made themselves available to help us discover the beauty of this part of the country. To make the experience even better, we visited Playa San Juanillo featuring two calm bays separated by a narrow strip of sand. The crystal-clear waters and serene ambiance make it a perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling.

My stay at Esh Hotel was truly exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, everyone, from the front desk team to housekeeping and the restaurant staff, paid close attention to every detail and genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the food at Almar. Absolutely incredible. I can honestly say it was one of the best octopus dishes I’ve ever had, memorable, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. Esh Hotel is a place that makes you feel cared for, relaxed, and inspired all at once. Without a doubt, I will be coming back.

The place is gorgeous. The rooms are extremely clean and nice, with AC and fridge. The shower is amazing ! There is a nice chilling area, a bar and a restaurant. The pool was our favorite place to be to cool down a bit when the sun hits too strong, it is huge, perfect temperature, good mix of shadow and sun. Ideal to swim or just as I did, read a book :) The place is nicely located, not in the heart of the hotel area, so it is quiet and peaceful, we had great nights there. There is a french bakery next to the hotel, serving delicious pastries and bread. Brandon and his mother are the nicest hosts you can hope for, they are flexible, easy to reach out to and will always do their best to make your stay nice. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, we ended up staying 4. We loved it here !

We stayed at Destino for one night and really liked it! The place is surrounded by nature, and on a clear, sunny day, you can see three volcanoes. One of the coolest features of the rooms is that one of the walls is made of natural rock, giving you the feeling of being in a cave - yet everything is modern and well-built. The hosts were very welcoming too. Liz sent us lots of great recommendations for things to do in the area. You can also enjoy an outdoor bath with hot thermal water that comes straight from the ground. The highlight of the property is the cold river, which you can reach within a few minutes. In the Costa Rican heat, swimming in that fresh, flowing water was absolutely amazing. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature and quiet, while still staying in a comfortable and thoughtfully designed house.
