Excellent location facing beautiful Tone River. Staffs are always very courteous. Alway love to dine at Kawa Han, that their staffs, kaiseki menus and the choices of fine sake are truly superb.

Beautiful, luxurious hotel straight out of the Taisho Period (1910s). Very clean and spacious with excellent hot spring baths. I liked that the onsen yukata were available in big sizes to fit my big American butt haha. Good location just a quick walk from downtown and right next to the lovely Sainokawara park.

This hotel offers excellent service and facilities compared to the price. It's within walking distance from the center of Kusatsu, so it's highly recommended. While other hotels may be more suitable for those seeking luxury, you can still create wonderful memories at this accommodation.

Definitely the buffet! The quality of food is superb. Even though the restaurant is a bit crowded, but the hotel can manage the quest well; and always keep the food enough for everyone. We very much love the dinner and always look forward to it.

This place is right out of a fairytale. It is serene, beautiful and very decadent. The onsens were absolutely beautiful, the food delicious and the staff very helpful.

Beautiful onsen, wonderful obliging and friendly staff, perfect location close to the Yuba, bus station, supermarket and the open onsen park. A very nice restaurant right next door as well with oishi soba as well a Lawson downstairs. It was snowing and cold when we were there so this convenience was a godsend. Supermarket also had very nice cooked food. A really wonderful stay. Kusatsu is a very beautiful town. I would highly recommend this accommodation and the breakfasts were superb, really special and beautifully presented.

Food was excellent. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet with lots of variety and excellent quality. Two chefs at dinner preparing tempura and meats, they were the best very friendly real service with a smile. Beds were very comfortable. Catch a taxi from the bus station to the hotel. The hotel is an easy walk to the centre but don’t be fooled by the distance and try to haul your bags up the hill. The onsens in the town are superb.

I stayed at the newest wing, in the Kashotei "Wafu" five star concept guest room. The room itself was lovely, cosy and well laid out with an in-room onsen. Breakfast and dinner were good, and while we could dine in a private room, after the first night we chose to dine in the communal dining restaurant which had a nice view of the greenery outside. The staff are pleasant.

Wow! This was my absolute favorite stay in Japan and way better than staying at a 5-star restaurant in the heart of Tokyo. Service was amazing and kind. We will never forget the kindness and treatment we received at this place. The onsen experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Japan for the first time, especially a private onsen in your room. The breakfast and dinner served was amazing and I cannot wait to come back here again.
