Great place to stay after a long journey, travelling from the UK. We arrived very late but were warmly welcomed. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast in the beautiful garden. Thoroughly recommend, especially if you're looking for peace and quiet not too far from the airport. Extra bonus: our car hire company (Wild Rider) delivered to Pura Vida, making for a very easy departure.

I loved the fact that’s it’s a resort but it’s in the nature and not crowded, like a boutique resort. Wonderful room, amazing view, nice environment and atmosphere. Good breakfast with a view. You can hike to waterfalls from the hotel, inside the resort ! And there is a little farm with animals, my child loved it. Not far away from the airport so that’s very convenient when we arrive/depart from San Jose and there are plenty of things to do around, including visiting the volcan Poas.

Fantastic service, very clean, charming place with personality which makes you feel like you are in Costa Rica. A few hundred meters to a small center with a small supermarket and a handful of restaurants; we had Mexican which was nice. Solid breakfast included with fresh fruit, special made omelets, etc Our kid had birthday and the staff was so nice they had made a cake 🎂 which was a compliment from the house.

Family run and so friendly and safe. Loved the garden & inside outside vibe. The area is gorgeous and has great shops & restaurants. Breakfast is huge, but you can tailor it to your needs. Poor dad went from trying to feed me everything to 2 perfectly boiled eggs. A great base in San Jose and a very nice neighbourhood.

Everything - Laurie and Miriam are FABULOUS in every way. I felt like I was at home, or perhaps staying with a favourite aunt. It felt like home. And the breakfast, oh dear - it's a shared table (not great if you're not a morning person, but I muddled through and thoroughly enjoyed it) and Laurie moaned that she "didn't have much this morning" and then served up enough food to feed a horde of hungry adolescents. Love all the animals, the terrace is magical...I could go on. So very glad I found this place and I'll see you next year :-)
