The bed - most comfortable ever, also for my husband (and he would usually prefer a firmer madress than me. The bathroom, including the spacious bathtub. The dimmer switches everywhere to allow you to have a relaxing ambience, even in the bathroom, and the blackout curtains to help deal with jetlag. The fact that everything was simple but very high quality. We have stayed in both 'fancier' hotels and in places with more stars, but this was so comfortable and hospitable - simple, quality comfort. The staff, excellent English and helpful with everything, including securing us s table at a specific Michelin restaurant we hoped to visit.

The hotel is not a large hotel but it is huge in service levels and provisions. What we liked about the room is that it has everything that any traveller would need - good toiletries, fluffy towels, a range of Japanese teas to be introduced to us with a very thoughtful note on it's respective preparation methods. The bathroom and toilet provisions are top-notched. You'd have thought you were in a five-star hotel bathroom. In terms of space and size of room, of course, don't expect five-star space, but The General's room is comfortable, two single sofas, tv with US-CNN and the local Japanese channels. You can play your own Spotify music through the JBL bluetooth speaker with rich room-filling music. Situated two stops from Kyoto main station, it is just the right place for us. Not too busy/noisy and near enough to access all the important parts of our itinerary via the rail and bus networks. And to top is off, there is access to th executive lounge with afternoon teas and evening cocktails and drinks (including wines, beers, whiskey) and various japanese bites, snacks and cocktail nuts.

Style and location, nice staff and they have free coffee, tea, wine, beer and appetisers on certain hours. In the room there are wires for charging the devices and a JBL speaker :). 4’ walking to main subway and bus lines!

The hotel was beautiful, our room was spacious and clean. The location was also perfect - a metro stop away from the Railway station and a walking distance from the city center and many tourist attractions. We were highly impressed by the kindness of the hotel staff and management. We had additional requests about the organization of our trip and they were willing to advise and help us. Beautiful room a little roomier than expected. Beautifully furnished and styled. Comfortable bed. Amazing shower. Both hand held and rainfall shower. Free toiletries smelled amazing. The provided body towel for scrubbing were amazing on the skin. Just a beautiful place to relax after a big day of exploring. Onsen was lovely and view from rooftop bar was stunning. Being able to soak your feet with a drink at the end of a long day was great.

    Beautiful, well designed room in excelent location, super-kind, English speaking staff, modern approach to room maintenance (you get a sweet award, if you don't ask for making up your room :) at the front desk you can hire a high quality speaker, ac adaptors or even a projector at no charge. 22 pieces is a great experience, highly recommended.

    The location is great, basically across the road from the station, about 5 to 7 minute walk. From there you can get to anywhere in the city quite easily. The hotel is new and much thought has been given to the decor. It is stylish and interesting with a Japanese touch. The rooms have a warm feeling with warm coloured floral carpets and wood features in the furniture. The bed linen was great and the beds extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and the water pressure excellent.

    The hotel is simply wonderful! Our room was simple yet well renovated, stylish, modern and new too. Totally worth the price and location is great too. The hotel is situated on a main road in Kyoto city centre, easy access to most of the places. There is a common spa, sauna and public bath area but we didn't get to use them. Would recommend to those who're traveling to Kyoto!
