The hotel has a beautiful modern design, spacious rooms, nice bath area, and free happy hour and parking. The location is perfect and staff was incredibly accommodating.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. From you enter the reception you are met with a beautiful traditional Japanese interier, it is very well done. Everyone there were very polite and respectful, from staff to other guests. We three women arrived around 16, were able to select a cute yukata each we wore as much as possible for our one night stay, and were shown our room which were as big as a small apartment. We choose to go directly to the onsen which had just opened for the afternoon and had the place for ourselves. Very well stocked with brushes, hairties, lotions, everything free to use! the rooms were nice and comfortable, there was a beautiful tea set for us to use so we had a tea party in our yukatas, before dinner. We had paid for the dinner which was serving after serving of small dishes and a particularly tasty hida beef with miso dish. The beds and shower were great, nothing to complain about there, we had the traditional breakfast the day after with a self serve bar of drinks such as tea, coffee, juice and milk. Oh and we also went down to the onsen before breakfast and were once again alone to relax and take our time. It was probably the most expensive stay we have included on our trip but it was also by far the best experience we have had, and can recommend anyone to try it even just for a night like us, if not more ☺️

Το HOTEL AMANEK HidaTakayama βρίσκεται σε πολύ καλή τοποθεσία στο κέντρο του προορισμού Τακαγιάμα και διαθέτει κλιματιζόμενα δωμάτια με δωρεάν WiFi και ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. This is a really nicely decorated, very clean, brand new hotel (upon our booking we even could not find it on Google maps), located a few minutes' walk from the train station and the main attractions of Takayama, so this is a good starting point to visit Takayama and it's neighborhood. The beautiful onsen on the top (equipped with necessary toiletries, extra towels) is a super opportunity to relax after a long day of sightseeing, or in case of bad weather. The breakfast absolutely worth the money, we had the opportunity to enjoy delicious traditional Japanese and Western-style breakfast as well. I highly recommend it!

We wanna thank you for the lovely experience of your ryokan. The energy of Mr. Receptionist and "Aoi miko"-san made the whole stay very comfortable and simply amazing. We already made a promise that we will return here in another 2 years to experience more of Takayama area. We will surely stay at your place again!

Το THE MACHIYA HOTEL TAKAYAMA βρίσκεται σε ιδανική τοποθεσία στο κέντρο του προορισμού Τακαγιάμα και έχει κήπο, δωρεάν WiFi και κοινόχρηστο χώρο lounge. We absolutely loved this hotel. It's relatively small, so you get a lovely personal experience with kind staff and little treats like afternoon snacks and unlimited tea and coffee. The lounge-dining area is great to relax in after a day of sightseeing, with a view onto the little internal garden. Our room was fantastic; I chose a quadruple room to have more space. This was like a little apartment with its own lounge area, two double beds (plus two bunks above), bathroom with cedar tub, separate toilet and a nice view onto the garden. Perfect room for friends or family sharing. Modern interior design in charcoal greys, everything very clean and tidy. They will arrange breakfast for you from a local cafe, or you could bring your own to the dining area - there's a toaster, plates and bowls available. I didn't try their lovely sento bath, but we did use their handy coin laundry. The location is great, just 10mins from the station, then a bit less than that to the busy historic area. Lots of great restaurants nearby, as well as the 7-11 a few mins away. I would definitely return or recommend to friends!

The location was great with parking spot available a short walk away 5 minutes). Our host made it easy to pull up and drop your bags first, then park car and return for a brief walk through of the home.

Το みのり家 - Samurai-era house - 昔の暮らし体験 βρίσκεται σε Takayama και απέχει μόλις 26 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Παραδοσιακό Χωριό Hida Minzoku Mura. We had a fantastic stay. The house was great and the family where such lovely host. If you don’t go there you really miss an opportunity. The whole family made our stay an event to remember. The venue is one of a kind and absolutely worth the 30m trip from Takayama. You really feel like traveling back in time. We experienced how little it takes to have a great childhood and astonishing beautiful environment. We can only recommend the place. Special thanks to Chie to explain us so much and to show us around not to speak of the wonderful food. Special thanks to Satoshi for the smoked fish, so tasty and tender.
