Everything about the property was just quaint and lovely. The room was so cute and quaint, the property was gorgeous in the middle of this lush forest. So remote, I could hear the peacocks somewhere on the property. There’s a lovely sitting area outside of the room with a Koi pond. There were chairs in the patio to just relax on. The room was so cozy and beautiful! The bathroom was massive and gorgeous. The staff were so sweet and helpful.

The property is so unique and spacious for our family of 5. Our children loved being in nature and having a shower outside! Breakfast was delicious and we had an amazing bbq by the pool one evening that was truly special. The pool was a great size and perfect for cooling off after climbing Sigiriya! I would highly recommend staying here.

The place was really incredible and ideal for couples - private pool! The breakfast was very delicious. Very interesting things to do around like safari and sightseeing - organised by the hotel!

Beyond the resort's impeccable amenities and dining, its location proved to be an excellent base for exploring the region's iconic attractions. We found it incredibly convenient to visit Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park, and Polonnaruwa. If you're looking for a relaxing, well-located, and truly memorable stay in Sri Lanka, Sun Shade Resort is an absolute must.

We recently stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms were nice and spacious and beautiful views over the rice fields. While not in the heart of the city we still found it easy to get around by Tuk Tuk. You could hear the road when you were outside however we couldn't hear the road in our room. They also organised a transfer from Colombo and back which was well priced and made it easy to get to the Resort. They also offer Safari's and a tour of Anuradhapura. We didn't do this through the resort as already booked this in prior. Definitely recommend staying here if in Anuradhapura.

We could look at the wildlife while we had our awesome breakfast. The garden was beautiful. The staff helps you with everything to explore Anuradhapura.

Wonderful staff, they upgraded us so that we could have adjacent rooms. The rooms are big, comfortable, clean, quiet, and great for sleeping because of dark curtains. The garden is amazing. You can see peacocks roaming, and enjoy the lovely swimming pool. The restaurant serves some yummy food.
