We stayed at Mahana House for two nights and absolutely loved it. The cottage was beautiful and incredibly comfortable — the bed even had adjustable firmness settings! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and there was a laundry room where we could wash and dry our clothes for free. The cat was adorable, and for the first time, my husband changed his opinion about cats — he actually liked this one! Randy takes great care of the orchard, and the longans were delicious. We truly appreciated the peaceful surroundings — it was perfect for mindfulness and relaxation. We shared photos on Instagram, and so many of our friends are now planning to visit too! It’s about a 15-minute drive from Hilo town, so having a car is necessary — but totally worth it. This place is truly a dream stay. Highly recommended!

The owners should put better photos on Booking.com. All 4 rooms have a terrific ocean view, a tropic forest behind a window, endless songs of Hawaiian birds in the evening and in the morning! The room was clean and nice, the lanai was beautiful, and the owners were very nice people. Breakfast was great, homemade food that the owners make for their guests every morning. Having your breakfast on the huge balcony on the second floor surrounded by tropical trees canopies with myriads of birds was amazing. Location was also convenient for us as we were exploring the entire island. There is a large supermarket in 15 min drive from the house.

This Kohala Coast, Hawaii resort offers guest villa’s with a full kitchen and a private terrace. The resort is located on the Francis H. II Brown Golf Course (South Course). My husband and I loved the spacious two-bedroom first-floor apartment with a patio that opened up to a lawn with an unobstructed view of the ocean. It was absolutely quiet and peaceful. The resort has a nice grocery store, restaurants, great snorkeling, all sorts of birds and tropical fish, great sunset views, a nice pool/jacuzzi club house. A special word of thanks is due to the concierge (Marvellee), who checked in with us daily for anything we needed and was very accommodating. Mauna Lani really exceeded our expectations.

Private and plenty of room in the house. Nice to have a washer and dryer on site. Washed our towels between laundry service visit. Enjoyed having A/C and the ceiling fans. Option to open sliders to have fresh air and hear the wildlife was nice. Close to restaurants and stores. Not too far to drive to the beach. Pool was never too crowded. People around seemed friendly.

A short distance from breathtaking waterfalls and within driving distance of Hawaii National Volcanoes Park, SCP Hilo Hotel offers comfortable accommodations and a swimming pool. Very close to the airport. Really friendly staff. I did not realize the sustainability efforts of the SCP brand when we booked, but this added to the good feeling of our stay. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There was free gated parking. We spent a lot of time at the pool which had a really nice seating area and a beautiful buddha statue adding to a serene feel. I also strongly recommend the Lomilomi massage at Malama Honua Massage Therapy. We ate several meals at the restaurant next door, Coconut Grill, which had amazing food (my first time trying Lau Lau) and really beautiful local art depicting Hawaiian legends.

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this resort in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii features an oceanfront outdoor pool and spacious suites with a fully equipped kitchen. The facilities are fantastic and staffs are super warm. Our room was updated to two bedrooms given we have a child together with us. The view is amazing and very convenient location, there’s a market just opposite the road and only 10 mins drive to Kona downtown.

Located on the Kohala Coast, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa overlooks the Anaeho’omalu Bay on the Big Island. The hotel offers an on-site spa, nature walks, and lei-making. Enjoyed continental breakfast every day. Very friendly hostess and servers. Loved the view, didn’t love all the birds that “attacked” tables as soon as guests got up.
