We have just had the most amazing 2 night stay at yala wild Beach huts. The owner and the team are lovely. The tents/huts are new and super comfy beds in a really quite unspoilt location. Very close to the entrance to yala national park. The food has been amazing with endless amounts of it too much food for us to eat you will never go hungry. We were offered tea and coffee and bottles of water all the time and when we went to yala and the temple tour we were given fruit, coffee, biscuits and chocolate milk for the kids. We opted to stay for 2 nights and we were glad we did as it gave us time to go on a second jeep trip to the temples and see more elephants outside the national park. Along with crocodiles and monkeys. Our driver was great and really enjoyed all the trips even going for a last minute beach trip and over the sand dunes. He went out of his way to try and find lepards for us. Roy our guide was incredible a great character who clearly loves his job and nature and his knowledge of sri lankan history is brilliant and very enjoyable to listen to. Along with morning nature walk around the camp We all agreed that this has been our favourite place in Sri Lanka on our trip and I would highly recommend a 2 night visit or longer if you have time. Going to sleep and Walking up to the sound of the birds an nature was amazing. The owner has great plans for the future of yala wild huts and its alread great and will only improve furter there is an obvious passion and love for the area and nature and to give guests an amazing experience Thanks again for an amazing experience we could not be happier and will recommend to anyone we know who is travelling to sri lanka

This tent features air conditioning. This tent features air conditioning. The Luxury Tent can accommodate 3 persons with one extra bed. It is equipped with an attached bathroom having running water. It was a unforgettable experience. We did two half day and one full day Game Drives. Our guide was one of the best we had in our safari career. Very helpful, experienced and friedly. The driver was also great. Food and tent: excellent. Extremly high hospitility! We can highly recommend such Camp!

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay inside Yala National Park, a rare and exceptional experience, as mobile camping is often unavailable in other parks. We initially had reservations about staying in the heart of the jungle, but this concern was quickly forgotten—the location is absolutely amazing, offering the real jungle experience we were seeking, free from the usual human or vehicle noise. This truly is the best place in the area, situated immediately next to the park, where we were delighted to see a wide variety of birds around the camp, and a nearby lake yielded incredible sightings, including four elephants and numerous crocodiles. The overall service and culinary experience were exceptional. The incredibly friendly staff always worked hard to ensure our stay was comfortable, and we truly appreciated their efforts, understanding that running a camp inside the National Park means they cannot offer the same luxuries as conventional hotels. Sara, the manager, is a good and brave person to successfully run this challenging operation with his dedicated team. The food was a major highlight and truly the most delicious we had in Sri Lanka. The chef prepared the food exactly to our preference, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond when we requested Halal food by personally showing us their preparations. The glamping tent was spacious and well-made, and we enjoyed a delightful BBQ around a bonfire. Our full-day safari was very successful; we were lucky enough to spot two leopards and elephants, making for an impressive wildlife experience. A memorable moment occurred when a leopard approached close to our tent in the evening—we suspect the aroma of our cooking meat might have been the attraction! Overall, the seamless operation, high standard of service, excellent food, and the thrill of the jungle proximity made this a truly remarkable stay.

Seriously, if you're looking for the perfect spot to run away with your partner, look no further than Podi Hoona Safari Camp! This place is a dreamy romantic getaway. Forget busy hotels—it feels like you have the whole bush to yourselves, offering the most wonderful secluded privacy to just switch off and unwind. The highlight? The staff set up a beautiful candlelit dinner under the stars for us. It was incredibly intimate and cozy—honestly, pure magic! The whole camp has such a lovely, intimate atmosphere. It's truly a place where you can relax and unwind completely. We absolutely loved every second!

Amazing deluxe room in Green Villa. Spacious, clean and good AC. Family very friendly, relaxed, flexible. We were generously treated with mangoes and other fruits from the garden. They have over 5 species of mango (consider it a local mango tasting). Swimming pool clean and close to the lake. Kind dogs that help protect from a friendly elephant visit (who also wanted a nightly mango tasting).

Beautiful stay that transported me away to nature. The camp was stunning, with amazing outdoor meals, wonderful trails, and comfortable and well appointed tents. Beyond the site itself, everyone there was so caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. The safari was AMAZING- fun, educational, and we were lucky enough to spot a leopard and even a jungle cat. This is thanks to a keen eye and ability to know where to go, which was also away from the really busy sites so it felt much more private and enjoyable than expected.

Peace, nature and a generous and warm host. The safari Prasad arranged was perfect - lots of elephants, a beautiful lotus lake, black- faced monkeys, lots of birds and only 3 other jeeps in the 4.5 hours. The rooms are clean, with a hammock next to a little stream, iguanas, peacocks, monkeys and eagles in the garden. Prasad's mum's coconut rotis are the best I had in my 3 weeks and the room and safari were great value. Thanamalwila has few tourists so unspoilt and the family will help with everything from bus bookings, travel advice to taking me to see a friends farm to see crops growing. The buses from Ella and Galle stop directly outside the homestay so it's really easy to get to. The safari is in Blocks 5 and 6 of Yala. If you want a peaceful safari then I highly recommend Prasad's place.
