The accommodation features airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. The cocoon, hive and dome rooms are out of is world! Unbelievable imagination and creative talent. No place like this. It was my fourth visit, and I will certainly be back. I can’t wait to stay in a dome room.

* Visit to a historic Anglo Boer War site during a normal game drive, where the pivotal "Battle of Paardefontein" was fought We stayed in Pod 1. We highly recommend the Pods for a truly unique experience. the lodge is beautiful but spending the night on the mountain is unmatchable. It’s a 40 minute drive from the Lodge to the Pods but it’s spectacular.

This was an incredible stay — everything from the view to the tent to the staff to the food was impeccable in every way. The only downside is that we feel like we’ve been spoiled and the rest of our trip simply can’t compare. The Africa-inspired rooms are elegantly decorated and are fitted with a seating area, safe and mosquito net. Each unit features a private plunge pool and patio. Food was absolutely wonderful. Staff were amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. Having spent countless days in the South African bush, this was a step above it all. To have a game ranger like Martin conducting our twice daily drives was the “cherry on the top”. His lovely attitude, enthusiasm and incredible knowledge makes the Safari Lodge a definite return location.

Located in the heart of the Amakhala Game Reserve, Woodbury Tented Camp offers an authentic outdoor experience in safari tents. The camp overlooks the ancient floodplain of the Bushmans River.

The en suite canvas tents have a patio and offer views of the valley. Each has a built-in shower, hot running water and electricity. The entire experience was phenominal. The amazing staff, the welcome, the foof, the luxury rented, and of course, the 2 game drives were incredible, with us seeing so many animals, despite the rain. We were mostly dry on the trucks, and there was a lovely fire to warm us up on our return. A fantastic family experience that we will never forget. Thanks to our fantastic guide, Roxy!

The luxury tents have a deck with private plunge pool and views of the surrounding bush. They come with thatched roofs and wooden floors, as well as a fireplace and minibar. We had three fantastic days at Amakhala Game Reserve, Bush Lodge. The tents were very comfortable and the food very good. The game drives were amazing. Our game driver Jono did a super job. very enthusiastic, very knowledgeable information given during the drives and he was fantastic at spotting the animals and very dedicated to making sure we saw as much and varied as possible.
