Guest Houses in Abu Simbel

It was the best guest house that we had during our holiday in Egypt! The room was very clean and comfortable (especially the bed !!), with AC and a fan and a small fridge. A nice bathroom with shampoo and hot water. The hosts are so nice and welcoming, it was a pleasure to share some moments in their home. They can cook for you and the food is delicious! They will help you however they can (they bought tickets for us for the lights and sounds show). You can easily walk to the temple from there. Thank you so much, hopefully we will be back one day!

I was a lone female traveller, looking for tranquility in a touristic town with magnificent historic monuments! The guesthouse was perfectly located in front of the lake with birds flying all around, with the great view on sunset, and Ioved it. I was welcomed by a lovely family and enjoyed spending time with them on the balcony. Mr. Adel was always helpful and provided transportation whenever I requested, and kindly came up with options for activities, restaurants etc according to my budgets limits. It was beautiful 2 days, and would definitely recommend staying there.

Big spacious rooms that were spotlessly clean and with comfortable beds. The showers were excellent too. The apartments were well equipped and the upstairs one had a nice big balcony to sit out on. Breakfast was very good and the owner went above and beyond to be helpful, including giving us welcome soft drinks, water, and a selection of fruit, driving us to a restaurant for lunch, and picking us in the evening after the light show was cancelled due to technical issues. He also organised a nice boat trip for us. This was one of the nicest places we stayed in Egypt and it was well worth spending the night to avoid the crowds and not have 6+ hours of travelling in a single day.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wawat — it was truly the highlight of our entire trip in Egypt. The owner, Assem, was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home. Assem speaks excellent English, and communication with him was always smooth and easy, both before and during our stay. He was always available, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our visit as comfortable as possible. The guest house itself is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly — which was such a relief in the summer heat — and there was strong Wi-Fi and reliable hot water. Everything was well maintained. This was by far the best place we stayed during our time in Egyp. If you’re planning to visit Abu Simbel, I 100% recommend Wawat. Assem is the best host you could hope for, and staying here truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a hotel.

Everything. This is new opened hotel, Everything is very clean. 10 minutes walk from Abu Simbel temple. Owner is very kind. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay in Abu Simbel was simply sublime. Before arriving in Egypt we chatted with Safari to arrange transport after our stay (from Abu Simbel to Luxor with stops at Philae temple, Kom Ombo and Edfu), every question we had about the temples, transport, food in the region, etc. were answered/arranged in a timely fashion. When we arrived in Abu Simble our host was gracious enough to welcome us at 8 AM in the morning! He showed us our room, brought us some tea and told us to get some rest after getting up at 4 AM. When we were rested he told us the best time to visit Abu Simbel temple and the best way (on foot) to get there. He also offered us tickets for the light show at night. The next morning the arranged transport arrived at 5 AM so we had to say goodbye to our very kind, jolly and warm-hearted host. Just want to add that the arranged transport couldn't have gone any better! We had a great time visiting the temples at our own pace and an air-conditioned car to jump into at any time. Safari guest house, thank you for your recommendations and all the help. You are simply amazing, we are very grateful. Keep in mind : Egyptian bathroom standards differ from Western standards. Apart from that little thing this house and it's host are a one of the better options for your stay in Abu Simbel.

Erki House and owner Ahmed are amazing! The location is superb with a short walk to Abu Simbel. I can’t recommend enough staying at least 1 night in Abu Simbel and staying at Erki house! Ahmed is the definition of a great host and will go above and beyond to make sure you have an easy stay. I recommend letting him know what your plans are and he will help you with anything you need. Ahmed got me ticket to light/sound show and day ticket next day for Abu Simbel at same cost if you walk up to window but without hassle of purchasing one at temples. Erki house is spacious, clean and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning that is offered is authentic Egyptian made by his mom. I will be coming back to Erki house when I return to Egypt for sure! You will come as a guest and leave as family! Thanks Ahmed and Erki house!!
