My stay at OBAI Nubian Guest House was absolutely wonderful and exceeded my expectations. The place has an authentic Nubian atmosphere with warm décor that makes you feel right at home. The view of the Nile is beautiful and offers a sense of peace and relaxation. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail to ensure the guests’ comfort. The room was clean and well-organized, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Honestly, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Aswan and looking for a comfortable stay filled with authentic Nubian charm. I will definitely come back again!

The room was modern and comfortable, even though the surroundings are quite rural. The house features a great rooftop with a lovely atmosphere, and the owner is absolutely fantastic! JJ went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful - always friendly, helpful and attentive. He also offers affordable Nile trips and transfers to Abu Simbel, which we highly recommend. The accommodation is conveniently located near the public ferry, which runs frequently and costs only 10 EGP per person. JJ welcomes you with tasty lemon-mint drink and offers the tea when he sees you :)

Trips to Aswan, as known, are not the easiest to organise due to the scarcity of transport alternatives and the frequent train delays. They are not easy unless you have a local friend to help you and take care of you. Ahmed did this for me, he followed me all the way from Luxor to better organize my arrival. My train (which was supposed to arrive at 10pm), was delayed and arrived at 1am. Ahmed waited for me until that time, spoke on the phone to the taxi driver to explain where to take me and arranged a boat for me to ferry me to the island, even though the ferries don't work at that time. The island is so cute, I have to go to see it again because it is unimaginably delicious. When he welcomed me upon my arrival, we stopped to have a chat on the balcony overlooking the Nile. Not seen in the distance, it is there in front of a few meters illuminated by the lights of the city but far from its chaos. When he accompanied me to my room I was amazed: I never imagined such a beautiful room for such a low price! Not very large but spacious, with two large beds with well-supporting mattresses, as I like, pure white sheets, window with view, very quiet air conditioning and ceiling fan. The bathroom is huge and stocked with soaps, shampoos, towels and toilet paper. The first thing you notice when entering is that everything is brand new and very clean, far above the standard so far...

Picturesque place, next to beautiful mountain that you can visit by camels or on foot, 7 min away from the ferry that takes you to louder and more crowded places! Everything and everyone. We are so glad to stay in this little island away from the busy streets and hustlers. It's so quiet and everyone in the island is so welcoming, greetings received from everyone. There's a ferry to get to east side and the pier is only 4 min away from the guest house. The ferry fair is 10EGP per person. Only takes 2-3 mins to cross the river. Ferry runs 24 hours so very easy to go around. Abu came with his motorboat to pick us up when we arrived and we were send off as well when we left. Village walking tour and the felucca trip with Mustafa (Abu's cousin) was the best time we had in Egypt. He's so friendly and very knowledgeable. We had an amazing time with them. The home cook dinner prepared by Abu's family were delicious. Abu can organise all kind of trips for you and you can book their motorboat to go to a different island with very reasonable price. Thanks for the warm and greatest hospitality from Abu and his family. We had an amazing stay and we will miss this lovely little island.
