It was in a small village at the foot of the mountains. The owner tried hard to make us feel welcome even though we did not speak very good French.

Everything! Just a note that the site says 10 km from Val Thorens. That measurement is from birds flight. However, 20 minutes away is Orelle ski area and from there you can park the car for free, equipment rental is inexpensive. Pay for your ski pass for Orelle & Val Thorens 4 hour pass for 2 = 105€ insurance included. A cable car and chairlift take you to the top of Orelle and from there you ski over to Val Thorens. The hosts are accommodating and friendly. You can visit the goats as they are being milked and visit the barn. See the cutest little pigs. I even got to milk a baby goat! Breakfast had nice options and dinner was delicious, plentiful made with local products and original homemade dishes. Wine and cheeses are available on site. The room is modern, shower is great, beds comfortable. There is a love seat that faces a huge picture window with a view on the mountains that takes your breath away.
