Aptly located in the heart of Kashiwabara on the Nakasendō trail, this is a cozy and traditional guesthouse.

Located in a lovely quiet village. There is a shared kitchen (not many restaurants nearby) and living room. Tatami mats covering the floors. Even a small courtyard garden. The owner is around a lot but doesn’t live there so it is just courteous to give him as accurate an arrival time as possible. It is 10-15 minutes walk from Kashiwabara station. The room was small but comfortable. A very nice place to stay.

The house is absolute gorgeous and right on the old Nakasendo-route. This would be an amazing place to stay with a group of friends (especially outside the hot summer season). The host was very kind and also speaks some English.

The guest house was very close in proximity to the family friend’s temple/house we were visiting.

Very quiet guest house, with a well stocked kitchen and several sitting areas. Lovely little town with very friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
