I had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and felt just like home. The host was friendly and incredibly helpful, making our experience even better. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, though we were unfortunate that the restaurant were closed on Tuesday. If you're looking to grab some food, make sure to arrive at the supermarket before 6 PM. However, I highly recommend dining at the host's place—experiencing home-cooked meals at Kumano was truly magical! Additionally, the host offers lunch boxes, and I was amazed by the presentation! It reminded me of the beautifully arranged meals I often see in anime. Overall, a fantastic experience!

The host was so kind and accommodating! I arrived very early and she still allowed me to check in to my room. Despite limited english she made effort to use phone to translate. Bento dinner was lovely. Highly recommend.

To say we were well looked after, would be a massive understatement. Mandy-san is a very special person and her kindness has deeply touched us. Besides having the luck to enjoy her many skills as the wonderful host she is, my girlfriend also had an acupuncture session with her. Mandy-san was both incredibly gentle and precise, almost as if she had a sixth sense. Our stay at SOLA guesthouse in one word? Magical! :)

One of the best places I’ve stayed in a long, long time Guesthouse is beautiful, very comfortable and extremely well-designed Owners are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. All the little details are taken care of - whether it’s the little spoons for stirring your coffee, or the olives served alongside dinner, or the thicker toilet paper (so many places in Japan use 1-ply!), or the yukata jacket provided because it was so cold. Or the fact they make an effort to cater to guests’ dietary requests, AND serve a Western-style meal for dinner because they know after many days in Japan, foreign guests might want something a bit more familiar to their palate. Just such a thoughtful place all around
