Perfect stay! We liked location and view from the villa. Our room was small but very comfortable with nice bed and pillows. Spacious and clean bathroom. Fast wifi. We liked food, it was one of the tasties experience in Sri Lanka! Cooked by familly. Also Saman took us for a walk to the rainforest and it was perfect. Maybe the tour is more expensive than directly at the gate but it was worth of it!

If you want a 5 star resort, this is not your place! If you want a river view with birds, a friendly chef/manager and a clean, basic stay- stay here! Fan, air conditioning and a clean room with hot water. No other people were staying; this suited us as we could enjoy the view, birds and relax. The boys organised cold beer for us- ask the price, give them the $ and you have beer. Overall, a great place in a secluded spot. There might be water on the floor after a shower but this. Dies overnight. If this sounds great, go for it! The more expensive places are probably similar but we could have stayed have stayed longer. Thanks to Chef, Manager Akila. Very good spotter of birds and a friendly person with lots of local knowledge.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, wish we could’ve stayed longer! The villa is super peaceful, the hosts are very kind and welcoming, on hand for anything you need and the rooms were lovely and clean. We have been travelling for a while now, and this was the most peaceful, welcomed and at home we felt in a very long time. The bonus was the incredible food. We ate Sri Lankan food for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we wanted to experience it properly with some spice and the chef exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely incredible and possibly the best we’ve had in a very very long time. Everything was fresh, portions were extremely generous and super flavoursome. We recommend the room with a balcony as you can relax there for hours watching the birds pass by and they get pretty close. Very special. Thank you for being such great hosts and making it special for us!

Lovely family. I had a great time there. All confort at the edge of the jungle. Discovery of new fruits a'd vegetables in my plate. What to expect better. I came also for an exploration of the forest with the father. We saw many animals including snakes an scorpios that he has the magical to spot out. So knowledgeable about all plants. And yes there are olives in Sri lanka.

I booked a bird tour in the Sinharaja Forest with Achi (Sinharaja Tour Guide – Rain Forest Tours in Sri Lanka) and also decided to stay at his family’s accommodation, which I found very practical. The hosts were extremely kind, polite and professional. They gave me great tips, supported me with all my wishes (for example, I wanted to visit a tea factory in the area) and even helped me arrange a car for my next destination, since there was no Uber available in this rather remote area. The accommodation and the garden are beautifully designed, and you can clearly see how much effort, energy and love the host and his family put into it. The room was very comfortable and lovingly arranged. I also ordered both dinner and breakfast there – the dinner (fried rice) was excellent, and the breakfast was customized to my wishes. Originally, I had only booked one night but spontaneously decided to stay for another because it was so nice and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. I also recommend everyone to explore the nearby town, which is within walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can warmly recommend Eco Villa Sinharaja to anyone visiting the area.

We've accommodated in hotel sanctuary last week. It was very clean and attractive.The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well organized.The pool area was fantastic, to have fun.The hotel keeper was very friendly and helpful.The hotel owner was the same. The meals were really delicious.We could enjoy the scenic beauty of rakwana mountains right from the hotel.That accomodation package was very reasonable for the payed price.I recommend this place for people, who are expecting a perfect stay near Rakwana.
