Would highly recommend Sunshine Villas. It is beautiful accommodation in a fantastic location with an array of wildlife at your doorstep! They arranged everything for us at ease and great prices. We stayed for 2 nights. Our flight landed at 3am and Sunshine Villas had pickup waiting to bring us straight to the accommodation. On arrival they had a beautiful breakfast waiting. They then accommodated our early check in. After a nap we were brought to the elephant safari by one of the sunshine villa staff which was incredible. They then arranged a tuk tuk driver for us for day 2! I couldnt rate more highly! The staff are so helpful and polite. The room was immaculate with hot water, and a choice of air con or a fan! I would rate 10/10

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located just outside the village, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It’s an ideal base for exploring Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, and you can easily rent a bike to get around. The hotel is set in the jungle, with charming independent houses that are very comfortable. Everything was spotless—pristine clean bedspreads, soft white towels, hot water, air conditioning, and satellite TV made my stay even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a great experience. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, with a choice of continental, Sri Lankan, or English breakfast, as well as excellent lunch and dinner options. What makes this place even more special is that they only opened in December last year, and the owner is committed to giving young people opportunities for good jobs and a better future. I truly admire this initiative and wish them all the success. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable stay in nature!

We had the most incredible stay at Yashi’s place. The rooms for spotless and comfortable and the location very convenient. It’s a family-run property, who are nothing less than absolutely delightful and very accommodating. Our meals were freshly prepared, delicious and plentiful. They offer Sri Lankan cooking lessons onsite which I highly recommend! A lot of the ingredients we used were collected from the garden 🥰 I’m so looking forward to visiting again in the future and would recommend this place to all!

Really nice place in a calm area, although close to city center. Rooms are really clean and spacious, breakfasts are tasty and the stuff is really kind and helpful. Great start of our Sri Lanka holiday.

Amazing stay! I l strongly recommend this place to any traveler looking for some relaxing atmosphere. The family was very nice and super helpful in helping me to plan my stay. They provided very useful recommendations and help with ordering tuktuk. The food was the best I had in Sri Lanka so far, highly recommend to enjoy your dinner there. The room was very nice and clean, AC, huge bathroom. The garden was very pretty. The guesthouse is located a bit outside of the main road but the village is accessible by foot. Last but not least, I did the safari with the owner, which was one of the best experience I had. Safari was in Hurulu Forest Reserve, a very nice forest, and we saw lots of (baby) elephants. Highly recommended!

This guesthouse is a real gem. Only two rooms, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, of generous size, set aback from the street, and with a terrace facing a lovely garden. Fridge (with Beers), Wine, Tea/Coffee set, Welcome fruit basket, A/C, TV with international news channels, Toiletries, all is there to make you feel at home. But what makes the big difference is the kindness of Ashoka and his team. We arranged through them train station pick-up, afternoon visit to Dambulla caves, and safari with transfer to next destination on departure. Both were arranged through his son Roshan with efficiency. The drivers were professional, vehicles were in good condition, and in the case of the safari, our guide Nilantha clearly knew his job.

Everything! This is the best accommodation we have stayed in so far in Sri Lanka! The lady coordinating the guesthouse was fantastic, and made the best food we have had so far!! She helped arrange a tuktuk for our sunrise hike on Pidurangala rock. The driver, Rangana, then drove us all the way to Kandy the next day and stopped anywhere we wanted/places he recommended for a great price. 10/10 recommend!
