When I exchanged SouthAfrica Rand at airport, I gave her R3000 but I only got R2000. I told this event to Hotel manager, he was very helpful for me. Finally he went to the exchange company to get R1000 back. He is a very reliable man. The security is better than the city center. Many restaurant and supermarket is close to the hotel.

The lovely people of Sundown went out of their way to help and accommodate me after I realized that I did not want to spend a second night in the Green Stay House Hotel in Maputo. Within the hour Mr. Bernardo came to pick me up from there and I arrived to a beautiful room with all the amenities, with breakfast on the patio and a relaxing atmosphere. I cannot thank them enough for their superb care and kindness. I highly recommend staying here, I wish I had found them from day one! You made my stay in Maputo wonderful and put a big smile on my face!

Staff is really friendly and Breakfast was splendid, with some tasty egg dishes to choose from. They have new bycicles which I used to roam around. It's very close to several embassies, so it's a good choice for (governmental) business travels.

Very small but very nice guesthouse on top of the well known Piri Piri restaurant - you enter via the staircase on the right of Piri Piri, through a "shop" that's only there in daytime - up the staircase, then to the backside and then to the LEFT to a solid looking metal door - there is a doorbell there for the guesthouse. Telling this in detail as I and others missed it at first. The owners are very very friendly helpful and nice, and speak good English. The rest of the staff is equally wonderful, but only speak Portuguese. Rooms are small but adequate. Do NOT expect a business hotel, this is a simply guesthouse! I spent there a week and enjoyed it! The breakfast is really nice (no buffet, it's made for you), when you are not in a rush. Highly recommended for people who are not in a rush and not looking for luxuries. Plenty of good restaurants around by the way (more upmarket for Mozambique), Indian Ocean is in close walking distance (nice walks).
