I am so pleased I found this little gem and that the beginning of my trip to the Azores started in this lovely place with such a friendly and helpful host, Monique. I would recommend other travellers hire a car but for me I didn't have a car for this 3 day trip and Monique helped me figure out interesting places to visit and good places to eat that I could get to via taxi or bus. She gave me great advice about the island and what to do. The location of the Villa is in a little remote town and as Monique explained the island isn't yet set up with lots of restaurants -- not too hard to find a good place to eat in the daytime, but unless you're in the capital, dinner is a little more tricky. Monique's breakfast, however, were like having three meals in one! Wonderful, generous food which I then packed up the day on my adventures to nearby places. When I joined my friends a few days later in the main city, I already knew so much about the island - where to go and what to do thanks to my lovely stay in at Monique's villa. I stayed in the beautifully laid out, extremely spacious garden apartment with my own kitchenette (fridge, coffee machine, microwave)

Our stay was truly wonderful. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the attention to detail in every corner is evident. The hot tub is a great way to unwind the day, breakfast was delicious. Would love to return one day, highly recommend.

Clean, everything was new, they are providing enough amount if towels, the breakfast was big, tasty, a lot if variety, the staff was friendly and gave us suggestions on where to go, the kitchen well equipped and clean, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, they clean your room as many times you ask for.

I had the best time at Solar de Santo Andre. Eduarda is a great hostess and the whole team at Solar de Santo Andre is very accommodating, hospitable, helpful and friendly. The house has been painstakingly renovated and the old rooms from earlier times have been made incredibly beautiful. The rooms, which are open to the public, are reminiscent of how Ponta Delgada used to be and how people used to live there. The guest rooms are very modern and equipped with all the necessary details to make you want to spend time there. I had booked the studio and was absolutely satisfied. The rooms are nicely furnished, are cleaned daily and you have everything you need for your vacation. Breakfast is served in the kitchen with a large table where all guests can sit down. The breakfast offers everything your heart desires: different types of bread, a selection of cold meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, coffee or tea is served as well as a homemade juice that varies daily. All guests meet at breakfast and the room invites you to chat. The garden with pool is perfect for relaxing after an eventful day. I had a wonderful time at the Solar de Santo Andre and can only recommend anyone to stay there!
