Our stay at this guesthouse was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious, varied, and filling. The location is great, as you can walk to two of the best beaches — Kendwa or Nungwi. It takes about 25–30 minutes on foot to reach each beach. We are very satisfied with our stay. There’s also a great restaurant just about 50 meters away, where the food is excellent.

Makofi Guest House is located in Nungwi, 200 metres from Spanish Dancer Divers. The property offers free WIFI in the common areas and is 100 meters from Nungwi beach.

It was a perfect experience. The staff was very friendly and helped book a reliable dolphin snorkeling tour, which also included round-trip transportation. Compared with going to the beach to find the captain directly, hotel reservations are more reliable, and the time and experience content are guaranteed. The room is very spacious and has air conditioning which is important in the hot summer. There is security in the yard at night, so safety can be guaranteed. After checking out, we were provided with an extra bathroom for us to take a shower after we returned due to snorkeling, which was very considerate. The location of the accommodation is also very close to the beach, about 7-8 minutes' walk.

Great location only a short walk from the beach and some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. Really good breakfast included in the rate & the menu provided for meals had plenty of tasty options. We went in the rainy season and still found plenty to keep us occupied with the help of the lovely staff. Shout out to Nana & Hakul, the owners, for their warmth, recommendations and great company. They, Flora & little Precious make this place a truly special spot to locate yourself while in Zanzibar.

All the people in Zanzibar are so good and friendly but the staff in Papaya…they are something different. They are the most friendly and calm people you’ll ever met and you must be sure that your stay here will be 100% better than any other place. You will get delicious fruits for breakfast every single morning and as you wait for the breakfast you can enjoy the music they listen while preparing the food. The beach is just 2 minutes away and you can find many places to have lunch or dinner around. There’s not mosquitoes in the rooms and if there’s, be sure that Mohamed will help you with that. Simple nice room, perfectly clean. Location was great, two minutes from the beach. Good restaurants just there. Staff was exceptional, really lovely women, ready to help you with everything. We were happy to use the option of washing our clothes, very good job done. Lots of fresh fruit in the morning. Lovely dog guarding the property from strange men and crows ;-) likes to play in the morning ❤️ We would definitely come again.
