Just 10 minutes' travel by bus from York Railway Station, Ascot House is a 15-minute walk from York Minster. It offers award-winning breakfasts, elegant bedrooms, free WiFi, and free parking. We truly enjoyed our two-night stay in this unique place. We loved everything about Ascot House, from the quaint and elegant furnishing evoking its rich history to the owner and staff who were all very kind and helpful. The location is great, too - in a lovely, quiet part of York, yet within walking distance of the centre.

A boutique hotel in the heart of York just a 10-minute walk from York Minster. Comfortable beddings, very clean hotel. The location is great, not too far from the minster and the train station. They can pick up your luggage from the station, very convenient! We also loved the pantry area, so generous!

Situated on Whitby’s North Promenade, on Western Cliff, The Wheeldale offers cooked breakfasts, free parking and free Wi-Fi. A short walk from town but lovely sea views. Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast and a big comfortable room.

The decor is eclectic and the beds are very comfortable. Loved the layout of the Four Poster room. It offered a space for everyone in our family to relax. Only a short walk to the train station. I highly recommend this place.

You won't find a better hotel at this price point. The area is lovely and the view from the terrace is the best in town. The owner is absolutely determined to make this work and puts in a huge effort. My daughter left her toy here and he posted it back to us, which was extremely kind. In future, I would go for one of the king rooms as the double rooms are standard doubles.
