A perfect stay at Calma. The room with a balcony was so cozy and felt just like your own home. The owner was lovely and very hospitable. The room is located down a private corridor, which featured a separate modern bathroom on the way. It’s truly like your own little room. Staying here made our stay in Telavi so much better. We would love to stay here again one day.

We planned to stay 1 night and extended to 3 (would’ve been 4 but it was fully booked). One night in another homestay made it clear that Levan and the family have a spectacular setup. Their home has everything you need (clean, comfy rooms, hot water, all the standard things in order), but something else is special. Extravagant breakfast (even pancakes!) and dinners cooked by the mother and sister, and served on the porch every morning with the ever-stunning views of the mountains. Most evenings Levan starts a bonfire and guests gather for a cozy night under the starry sky! Here Levan is subjected to all types of questions, and has as a result become known as the Google of Tusheti. Do ask him to tell how he met and befriended a local mountain bear! 🐻 We were, unfortunately, not there long enough to meet it!

Gela welcomed us with a Glas of his homemade wine. The next day he took us on a tour through some wineries, the nearby monastery and a wine themed museum. Great day! The barbecue and salads at night were also delicious and accompanied by more of Gela’s homemade wine and chacha.

Every room has a terrace where breakfast is served, offering an amazing view of Sighnaghi. There is a parking space, and you can easily walk to the small town. Goga, the host, and his wife are very kind people who are always eager to help. And as a bonus, you can try their homemade wine, which is the best you’ll find in the area! But be careful, it’s strong :) Great value for money!
