The rooms were spaceous. We had 2 rooms on the top floor in the Postmasters House. We were travelling with 3 kids and therefore we had 2 rooms. The beds were good, and the rooms were very clean. The kids were very fond of the bunk bed.

All the staff members are friendly and helpful. We stayed a total of 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay very much.

This family-run guest house has rooms with good-quality beds, mattress hygiene care and tea/coffee making facilities. There is also a comfortable sitting room for guests to relax in. Absolutely wonderful place. I had a very rough day of travel and didn't arrive until much later than expected. I was stressed but the gentleman who checked me in was very calming and the vibe of the building was stellar. Felt homey, I wish I stayed longer

The shared lounge is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. We didn't interact with staff in person but Rachel sent helpful instructions about the property and everything was clear. It is not easy to spot the entrance from the road, so use the Eircode provided.

I would Highly Recommend Johnsville House to any visitor to Carlow Town. Magic !!!

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. The property is non-smoking and is located 17 km from Mount Wolseley (Golf). Amazing place. Sean is so friendly and accommodating. We went to the local pub owned by his brother for dinner and then breakfast was provided as well as things to make lunches for the next day of hiking. Sean also drove us to the trail the next day so we could continue on the Wicklow way.
