The location is very peaceful, the Japanese style room was very prettily decorated and spacious, and the Miyako and her husband were fabulous hosts. They were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel very well cared for. Miyako prepared delicious and generous meals for us that were absolutely beautiful. She was also a huge help with arranging luggage transfer for us as we began our planned hike along the Michinoku trail. And she and her husband offered to drive us to and from Hachinohe station at a very reasonable rate, which is a big help and big time saver because Hachinohe is very spread out.

The house was full of history and souvenirs which I'm sure the hosts are more than happy to talk to you about. There is also "sake nights" where the hosts offered us a chance to try different sakes. There is only one shower in the facility, so there is a booking system to reserve your shower slot.

I like the guesthouse is surrounded by the nature, the closest train station is Asamushi station, it’s about 5-6 stops away from Aomori station. The guesthouse owner Taku can offer pick-up/drop-off at Asamushi station. BTW, Asamushi is famous for onsen(hot spring). Since the house is in the middle of nature so there’s no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, but you can purchase dinner and breakfast, Taku’s wife, Kaori, makes very delicious and healthy food, must try it!

The hosts were super friendly, professional, and helpful! They went out of their way to arrange a taxi for us due to our early flight out in the morning. In terms of the facility, it was quiet, clean, and the bunk beds are accessible on the second floor via stairs. We traveled as a large party and the guys stayed in the mixed dorms, both upper and lower bunks. The bunks are wooden and looks very nice (quick research shows me they were made out of apple boxes!). Three of the girls in our group stayed in a traditional Japanese room. It was nice and clean. Although later at night, the other side of the Japanese room separated by wooden locked dividers were talking loudly so you can hear them. There are a total of 2 mixed gender shower rooms inside a glass container room with sinks. There is an additional female shower room and another toilet in the female side separated by a curtain from the rest of the hostel. Additional toilets are accessible on the same floor but outside the dorms (not too far though, just separated by sliding doors). Overall, a hostel I'd definitely return to if I'm in Aomori.

It was a house that one can feel the warm hospitality from the host Tama-San and his wife and certainly the 25 lovely cats. The room was clean and the common room was nicely decorated. We are thankful that the host also treated us a wonderful breakfast. It was impressive experience to eat in with lots of cars surrounding you. They are lovely!
