The guest house was a lovely half hour walk from the train station along the canal in an absolutely beautiful neighborhood. We loved strolling around the area and it was easy to get to boat rides and restaurants nearby. IKOI itself is wonderful and had everything we needed. Warm room (can't say that about every place we have stayed at), super comfortable beds and other amenities in tip top condition. The view of the garden from the cafe is honestly worth the price alone, it's breathtaking. It's hard to believe you're not in the countryside when looking out that window. Finally, I have to dedicate a paragraph of this review to Jo, the owner. He was so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. He helped us with figuring out transportation, he called a restaurant for us to help with a reservation and he recommended some local places that ended up being the highlight of our stay in Yanagawa. I cannot say enough great things about our host, just 10/10. Overall, our stay at IKOI was wonderful and I could not recommend this place more!

I’m only now writing a review for Shiori place, however this was my first introduction to Japan, and one of our favourite experiences of our whole 2 month trip throughout the country. Not only is she the perfect host, super attentive, open, friendly unbelievably giving , but she went above and beyond what one could ask for from a stranger. After one night we extended our stay and she took us on a tour around the town, to museums, shrines, the beach and we shared several meals together, all of which only made us sadder to leave her. The house is beautiful, has everything you could want from a guesthouse and the traditional interior decoration of Japanese homes. We hope we have formed a friendship for a long time to come and we will never forgot our wonderful stay with her. Please do not hesitate to book, even if it is for a short stay, you won’t regret it. What a cool spot. The host Shiori is the sweetest person ever. She taught my partner how to play the cello then we played together in the sunset at the beach. Fukutsu is a wonderful, charming town. The house is clean and tidy, with great facilities, its always nice having access to a washing machine.

A secluded but relatively accessible location with a few stray kitties around the property. The room is cosy and comfortable with a foot bath you can enjoy after traveling. It is within walking distance from eel and seafood restaurants, boat docking area and local museum. Staff is helpful, enthusiastic and very informative. We really enjoy our time here!

The owner is very friendly and trying her best to make the stay comfortable. She doesn't speak English, but is very well versed with using the translator app, so there weren't any communication problems at all. The room is beautiful, everything is very clean and I felt very relaxed
