As a female solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable staying with the host and her family. When I arrived, the mother and her son greeted me at the door. Although I do not speak Japanese, and they do not speak English. We were able to communicate by using our Google Translate seamlessly. The accommodation has everything you need, and the host is willing to go out of her way to make your stay the most comfortable. It is essential to have your mode of transportation as the location is far and not within walking distance. However, it is worth it if you want to explore Hokkaido. If I am lucky, I hope to come back here to stay again. Even though Japan is not my home, this accommodation made me feel as it were.

I had an amazing time staying at this accoms. The place was exactly as described – clean and cozy BnB. The host was incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. For example, when they overheard we wanted to go to Sahoro to ski, they checked the local news and told us the road was closed due to a heavy snowstorm. That saved us a wasted trip! The location was perfect – quiet, but still close to Furano city centre (10mins drive). Would come again!

And the free breakfast was good!

Yoshie San is one of the best host I met in Japan! The atmosphere is amazing, the common room is small but everyone is sharing and chatting freely. I think Yoshie really do a good job to connect each other together :) I think this is a very cool place for solo travellers and backpackers, the bed is surprisingly comfortable:) The room may not suitable for people’s who are looking for a hotel style service. Yet, if you want to chat or having travelling advise, I think you can just stop by and grab a beer. Yoshie San is familiar with Sapporo and have many local recommendations.

Offering quiet street views, Pirka Sapporo is an accommodation located in Sapporo, 2.7 km from Sapporo Station and 12 km from Shin-Sapporo Station. Featuring a shared lounge, the 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. I needed a short stay and didn’t mind a cheap place. But it exceeded my expectations. Nearest subway line took me straight to Sapporo and to a new restaurant area. It was a bit hard lugging my suitcase through the snow for less than 10 minutes and climbing the entry stairs, but the location was really good. The facilities and common room were AMAZING and was a pleasant surprise! The staff were attentive and very accommodating. Would recommend.
