The location feels off grid but it's only a few minutes from Tadao Ando's Water Temple at Honpukuji. It's a exquisitely renovated Minka (old style Japanese home) with a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary. The couple that runs it are so nice. They also have a pottery atelier that they spend their days making wares at and have a nice gallery shop that you can purchase. I recommend the ocean view room. Sunrise was gorgeous. I would return to Awaji just to stay here again.
