In addition, the location of the guesthouse in ideal as you can walk to many places such as the famous tree, the library and the onsen itself. Also, the room is spacious and the bed is comfy. We loved everything about Karatsu: the town, the beach and of course Akariya. It was lovely, well situated and very joyous. The room was super clean, the light was pretty. All of the common facilities were super practical. We met a lot of awesome people there, especially the owner, Suzy, who is fluent in English and a very kind person.

It feels like sleeping at home with a Japanese family (which actually is true). The owner is really friendly. He helped me to find a parking space and explained everything to the littlest detail. When I arrived I got a free mandarin as they are in season now. The room itself was really comfortable and spacious. The beds were not too hard. The kitchen (with free tea and coffee), toilet and bathroom are shared with the other guests. However, since there are only 3 rooms, you almost never have to wait. The location is nice as it's close to the sea and about a 20 minute walk to the city centre and the castle.

Grandma was so kind and nice to us and my highlight for this trip was the best because of her. I really had a great time in this accommodation and I will definitely be coming back for the hospitality. I had the best "ichigo-ichie" in her place and I would cherish and remember this journey forever!
