This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. The hostel was fantastic. We rented a tatami room, which was spotless, very comfortable and with a really nice view. The onsen was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean, there were snacks, eggs to boil in the onsens in town and all cooking and serving tools to eat them afterwards. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. This was our favourite stay along the Kumano Kodo, despite being the cheapest.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, as a solo traveller I enjoyed spending some time chatting with them and other people around. I had dinner there, and food and beer were really good! They also had great recommendations for food and places to visit. There is also a public bath nearby for which they provide towels and soap and entrance at discounted fee.

Very friendly and helpful host. Run me through all the equipment and helped with my luggage and time issue. Also the room is super clean and equipped with everything you need. Definitely recommend.

It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Ike-san was such a friendly and caring host who made sure that I was taken care of from our first moment of contact to check out. The room was extremely comfortable and provided all the necessary amenities for lodgers or even hikers travelling on bare essentials (there's a hairdryer thank goodness!!), the bathroom was clean and made for a wonderful soak at the end of a hard hike, and Ike-san went out of his way to ensure my comfort and convenience - from giving me a lift to the nearby eatery when I ran out of dinner options to generously gifting me a poncho before I set off for my hike in the rain. I'd also like to mention that his place is literally next to the Chikatsuyu-oji marker on the Kumano Kodo trail for those who are making this a rest stop on their hike. Thank you for the hospitality!!
