Fabulous, intimate, staff and owner friendly and helpful. Terrific food and superb breakfast. The restaurant and rooms are in an old restored house by the harbour so don’t expect huge Hilton or Holiday Inn style rooms but go with the vibe of tradition and intimacy. We rate this a 11 on a scale of 1-10. Thanks to Ringo (the German owner and chef) for making this return to Nyksund after 52 years very special.

The dinner was the best we have had in Norway and it was wonderful to be one tiny part of preserving the history of such a beautiful place. We walked to the sculpture garden at our hosts recommendation and we were cozy inside while the wind blew and the sea crashed under the docking in the night.

It was by far our favourite stay in Norway in a 2-week trip (and I almost didn't book it because we were going to Lofoten islands and Sortland was not really on our radar). + Let me start by saying that the owner was really friendly and kind. + The place is some kilometers away from Sortland, in a small village and a bit away from other houses. Behind it there is a ski run that follows a little stream where you can take a walk in the middle of nature, with mountains, close to the sea and surrounded by snow. + The studio is a very special place, more so for me because I studied Art History. Seeing all the lovely paintings and vintage pieces, sculptures, books, rugs, furniture... it is my dream home! I hope one day I can have such an amazing collection myself. + The lightning is also cozy and well thought. + We were lucky enough to arrive when there was a lot of snow, so the place was even more magical. I couldn't get tired of watching through the large windows to the garden covered in snow and the glasshouse. + The beds were very comfy and spacious. + Loved the floor heating on the bathroom :)

Such a stunning, remote location – we couldn’t believe the views. The host was incredibly nice and the apartment was well-equipped, I was pleased to see an induction hob and even a dishwasher. Very comfy bed and the room even had AC, which was quite helpful as it got quite hot during our stay due to the 24 hours of daylight in the summer months. Everything was exceptionally clean as well. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Το Arctic Ocean Lodge διαθέτει κήπο, ιδιωτική παραλία, κοινόχρηστο χώρο lounge και βεράντα, στον προορισμό Skjolde. Great views, small private beach and bar, friendly staff, great common area etc.

This central Andenes accommodation overlooks the Norwegian Sea and harbour. Free WIFI and shop with local handicrafts is available on site. The units are located in 2 house by the sea. A very atmospheric little house in an amazing location. It's not a luxury apartment, but I strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience life up North. The house has a charming style with cute details, and a fully functional kitchen and bathroom. If you're booking just one room, please note that other guests might be staying there at the same time. It is a nice opportunity to get to know new people, but you do not have much privacy. In addition, the house is made of wood and there is a little if any isolation, so you can hear everything what others do.
