If you are attending events in the Gifu conference center, this is definitely the hotel to stay at. Priced roughly in the range of US motels, this hotel can easily out-compete the Hiltons, Hyatts, and Marriotts in terms of amenities, services, rooms, restaurants, and general comfort. Amazing value, service, and style.
Everything about Canopy Lodge was amazing. Emily and Mike, the owners, were so friendly and accommodating.....alongside the amazing team of staff...absolute shout out to every single one of them! It's such a wonderful place so close to the slopes. Stand out was Mikes exceptional culinary skills. Freshly baked bread and beautifully put together meals every night. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Helped by freshly dumped snow....skiing in the area is incredible! Truly the best! We can't wait to go back!
Beautiful little hotel with great design touches. Lovely bathroom and very comfy bed with super-fluffy duvet. Didn't have breakfast - Curio just across the road has delicious cinnamon lattes.
Everyone at Canopy Lodge was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was great. If you haven't heard about Mike's cooking already, you're in for an amazing experience. Each meal was incredibly adventurous, tasty and healthy. He also caters to dietary needs.
My recent stay at CURIO Shirakawago was a serene escape into tranquility. The charming hotel, nestled in the heart of picturesque Shirakawago, surpassed expectations. The two complimentary biscuits in the room were a delightful surprise, offering a warm welcome.
At the smallest room size, it was very cosy, warm, clean facilities and a nice comfortable bed with proper pillows. Instead of the flat ones you get at business hotels. An immaculate view in a proper Japanese setting, nice and curious staff.
The hotel is very close to the station that you can follow the route with canopy.
Very interesting cultural and culinary experience in a traditional Japanese guest house. Great food selection, and the experience of the Onzen built with natural stones and under a tree canopy was amazing
There's a convenience store a short walk away. The owner was also kind enough to let us check out very early in order to catch the first ferry of the day. The owner was also very kind and really curious about Americans, so it was funny to try teaching him about American things.
