Perfect place to escape busy and crowded city and enjoy quiet village atmosphere. Paradise for birdwatchers. Breakfast was good, and there are two restaurants nearby. I would recommend the nearest one (Lake N Cruise). The food is simple and cheap, and it's a perfect spot to enjoy magic sunsets at 6 pm. It is also easy to reach Kumarakom center and bird sanctuary (tuk-tuk 150 rupees one way). Early morning backwater boat ride for three hours though small canals was something special. And many thanks for sincere hospitality to the hosts, who were super friendly and helpful. Overall 10+!

We had the most wonderful stay at BirdScapes Homestay. We were warmly welcomed by Abin and his family, who cooked great meals for us and took us on boat trips. The room is very confortable and has a nice view on the backwaters. We are grateful to have had the chance to stay here for two nights and strongly recommend!

You need some form of transportation to get around. Other than that the owners are super friendly, you can order food. The garden is super nice and the whole backwaters area is really pretty. I recommend checking out the bird sanctuary very early in the morning. He also offer to use the boat for 1000rupees/hr

The views from the balcony was amazing. Room had everything I needed. The host was really responsive and helpful. The food tasted great and homemade and the meals were worth the price in my opinion. Totally recommend if you want a relaxing place away from the city.

Truly a piece of heaven. Humble generosity meets earthly luxury. I had breakfast lunch and dinner, curated especially for me. Everything I tasted was delicious and healthy. They even made me my favorite dish, which was not in season, but somehow they found it and made it. Ayurvedic treatments to nourish your body, yoga to nourish your soul. The river a few steps away from you. Not to mention to be woken up everyday by beautiful bird songs. They chauffeured me everywhere, gave me a personal tour of the town. I can't believe I got to experience this ❤️

I booked this stay for my parents, and they had a wonderful time and a truly refreshing experience. The host was very friendly and always ready to help, and the location is absolutely breathtaking with stunning sunrises and beautiful views from the room. The stay was clean, comfortable, and peaceful perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food served was delicious and authentic, giving a real taste of the local cuisine. The people around were warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the experience. If you have any doubts about reaching the place, the host is very supportive and responsive. Fabulous stay. Divya, her family, and staff are welcoming and foster a home-like environment. We had engaging conversations and shared stories. The rooms are clean and well-kept. The homestay is located near a quiet rural road that runs alongside a canal and passes through villages and rice fields. We took a pleasant 3-hour walk from the homestay to the main lake, along the canal, where we saw different birds and interacted with villagers.

The Homestay is in a great location. You can easily arrange for a boat to collect you by the front and you are almost at the lake. The garden space is very good. It works well for two people who don’t want to share a room.
