We had a very short but totally comfortable stay here. It's a great spot for people who are driving, as you can park directly on the property, no costs or hassles. Having said that, there's a bus stop very close by too. Our room was spacious, which is a pleasant change in Japan, and the owners very kindly made it comfortable for our particular needs. The bathroom etc was spotless and had a lovely retro interior, as did many of the decorations in the house. It gave our stay a special Showa period mood. We loved that. Very close by, there are a couple of good places to eat, so even though you are out of town, you can have a lovely meal at night. And then enjoy a quiet sleep!

The building is newly renovated, so everything was in pristine condition, and also very clean. The staff was super nice and helpful. The location is also very nice being right next to the river, neighbouring the Matsumoto old town district. Nearby, you will find a bunch of stores, restaurants, izakayas, and even a mall. Matsumoto castle is also just a few minutes' walk from here. I'm a bit sad we didn't get to stay for longer.

The owner was so friendly! He waited for us to arrive and showed us around. He gave us great recommendations on where to eat. It was super cosy and warm and SO clean, we loved it! I didn't want to get out of bed. It was super close to the bus station like a 15 minute walk which was perfect for our bus to Kamikochi. Honestly I wish we had longer here. Free tea and coffee too.

Place was extremely clean and well-equipped. There were many common areas to dine and to rest, and the overall environment was very warm and relaxing. The onsen were also private thus you don’t have to be concerned if you’re not comfortable sharing it with strangers. It was a really nice Japanese style place with the warmest welcome you could imagine! We were picked up and taken to the Bus stop and even got. Support to Book the right bus to get to Kamikochi. The breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed every minute and especially the nice talks with our host- thanks a lot we loved it !!! (:

I think it was the best balance between comfort location and price. My friends and I got a triple room and honestly it was perfect. It is 10 min walking from Matsumoto main street and train station. We also loved it a lot because during the week no one else was there so we had the whole place for ourselves! Would definitely recommend

This was our first stop on a month-long trip around Japan, and I cannot put into words just how incredible the whole experience was. A beautiful private home, with a friendly host, in a lovely rural atmosphere. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay, from the traditional decor, to everything we learned about the region. What an amazing way to start our Japan visit - we are sure no other places will measure up.
