This was by far my favourite stay of my Japan trip. Not only was the guest house absolutely stunning and tastefully furnished, within very close proximity to the deer park, I was welcomed so warmly and it really felt like home for the night I was there. This is more than just a guest house- this is a beautiful place to bring people from all around the world together.

The stay at the temple was amazing, especially joining morning prayers (optional!) with the centuries old statues, and breakfast in the garden room. A real highlight of our Japan trip. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Exceptional.

Everything was perfect. The checkin, luggage storage, route suggestion from the staff, great selection of champus and conditioners, free tea, coffee and a microwave - all available in the common area. Extremely clean and comfortable beds. Great showers! And I paid very little for the amount of luxury I got - thank you!

The host was very friendly and hospitable! Had a comfortable stay and wished I had stayed for a few more nights. Hostel had a kitchen, a nice onsen-style bathroom and some bicycles for rent. Would definitely return to stay when I’m back in Nara.

You're made to feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. Hiroko and Dane were great hosts and the place provided us with everything we needed, including a nice breakfast. We got a lift to the train station when we were leaving as it was raining - a very nice gesture.
