Our hosts were amazing! They were so accommodating and flexible, trying extremely hard to please. The place is clean and simple - a short walk from Tsukaige gondolas but free shuttles are available from Pension Kobekko. We had to reserve dinner a day ahead to give them time to prepare the set menu - and hold on to our seats during the 5 course meal... it was "simply divine".to quote my wife Would recommend to all. Closest gondola offers exceptional access for beginners and some runs for more confident skiers. Other ski resorts a short bus ride away offers more serious sking. Everything required to ski or snowboard is available to rent on the spot. Thanks for having us

Room was very clean and spacious with a large wardrobe - there was more than enough space to fully open up our large suitcases and hang our clothes. Heating worked perfectly as well and we were always happy to return to our room. We slept on traditional Japanese futons for the first time and found them surprisingly comfortable and warm! I believe the lodge has only been recently refurbished or renovated since the furnishings in the room are all quite new. There is ample space in the common area to have breakfast or just relax after a long day out. There is also a dedicated storage room for placing wet ski equipment so we didn’t have to worry about storing our equipment in our own room. The location of the lodge is superb as it’s only a 3 minute walk (on flat road) to the ticket office and main chair lifts and just another minute more to the main bus stop in Tsukaige. From the ticket office, there are many shuttle buses which go to other Hakuba resorts. Most of the dining options are also within a short walking distance so it’s really not necessary to drive at all. Host was incredibly friendly and made every effort to ensure that we were well taken care of. This place just checks all the right boxes for me and I had an extremely enjoyable stay overall. Will definitely return next season and highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking to visit Hakuba.

It was close to the Cross Country trails.

The property was very comfortable and the facilities were great. The owners were also very attentive and helpful. The location was good, only a 15 minute walk to Iwatake Mountain. We really enjoyed our stay!

Hiroshi the host was extremely kind. He spoke very little English but did his best to make sure he provided whatever we needed, including giving us rides to the resorts and to dinner at night.

From the moment I arrived until the last minute of my departure, my experience at this accommodation was nothing short of phenomenal. The owner and staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Their friendliness and willingness to assist with any request added a warm, personal touch that made me feel not just a guest, but a part of their family. The evening meals were a highlight of my stay, each night presenting a delicious array of traditional Japanese dishes that were both a delight to the taste buds and a homage to the local cuisine. The dedication to authenticity and quality was evident in every bite, and it was an absolute pleasure to dine there each evening. The comfort of the beds deserves a special mention. I enjoyed restful nights of sleep, waking up refreshed and ready to explore the nearby attractions. Speaking of which, the location's proximity to the Sanosaka ski resort was perfect for me. This lesser-known gem provided ample opportunities for skiing without the crowds, enhancing the enjoyment of my winter sports experience. Additionally, the offer of transportation to other ski resorts in the area was a thoughtful touch that allowed for effortless exploration of the region's diverse slopes. The charm of the house, with its older architecture, added an element of enchantment to the stay. It felt like stepping into a cozy, historical haven that provided a unique contrast to the modernity of everyday life. This, combined with the exceptional hospitality and the serene location near the Sanosaka ski resort, made my stay an unforgettable experience.

The room is tastefully decorated and very cosy, there are spacious common bathrooms with a big bath. Toilets are very clean. The dining area is also very nicely set up, with lots of little plants! I opted for the breakfast one morning - they made a big homely Japanese breakfast for me.. Most importantly, the host and his wife are the loveliest people - he would arrange to pick you up at the station and every night would check what your plans are for the next day and send you to wherever you are planning to go. I was going to walk out to look for dinner myself one night and he came out to give me tips on where to go, and warned me that the place I wanted to go to might be fully reserved. Every night when I get back to the accommodation he’ll come out to greet me and ask where I’ve been and whether I’ve had fun. So much warmth staying here! ☺️

The cottage was beautiful and in immaculate condition. It was really cosy and had great facilities. The hosts, Takashi and Miki, were lovely, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had a wonderful week in Hakuba and would definitely stay here again.
