It was our very first night in Sri Lanka. As we arrived late, we just slipped into our beautiful and comfortable bed in the bedroom surrounded by antic furniture. Tomorrow morning we were just amazed by the garden's mango, jackfruit, coconut, beatiful flowers, peacocks in the tree. The host led us through their garden before the large and delicious home-made breakfast.

Everything was perfect. The family was amazingly hospitable. Way above and beyond our expectations. The room was spotlessly clean. Super comfortable beds, the place was just awesome! We were leaving at 6am, the hostess made sure we had a cup of coffee before we left. Cannot find fault with anything. I would highly recommend Silver rail to everyone. Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful host. Spacious and spotless clean room and bathroom for a very reasonable price. 3 beds, mosquitonets, fridge, hangers, chairs, tables. Kettle, cutlery, sink... About 2 km from the Fort in a quiet area (little traffic at daytime on road next to house, at night I didn't hear anything). Good temperature / not too hot. Good wifi. Good waterpressure. Delicious rice and curry for dinner.

We had a very nice stay for 2 nights at DiNi Galle. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast excellent (we got toast, butter, marmelade, different fruits, 2 eggs, Roti and Dhal). Although it is a little outside the main town, getting to the center is easy by either short walk+bus ride (~15 min total) or Tuktuk. When you walk from the hotel to the main coastal road, there is a nice quiet beach right behind the bus stop/crossing. The owner was very helpful in arranging a scooter and giving tips for our stay.

    Orchard House is a gem in Galle Fort. It has a beautiful, lush garden courtyard and breakfast/seating area, and a pool with loungers for when the heat becomes too much. The staff are absolutely excellent - nothing is too much trouble, at any time of day. The place is furnished like a private home and we felt extremely relaxed and at home here.

    Indiko and Shadow (the dog) are great hosts. Indiko takes good care of you and likes to tell you more about his live and living at the beach near Galle. Galle is 10 minutes by tuktuk. The food in the homestay is great.
