Very friendly and helpful owners! The accommodation is very clean and spacious with a peaceful terrace. The view on the nearby wetlands is absolutely stunning and can be fully enjoyed from a little tree house (where breakfast/dinner can be served). The owner is willing to drive you to every nearby major attraction (Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, jeep safari,…etc) and able to make bookings at affordable prices (e.g. a jeep safari is significantly cheaper if you let him do the booking) and has lots of interesting, lesser known suggestions to visit. In addition, his wife makes delicious local breakfast, dinner and drinks at very cheap prices. Heavily recommended!

Beautiful, simple and clean rooms in pleasant and peaceful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The owner, Kalhara, goes out of his way to ensure the stay is great, from arranging transport at decent prices to giving recommendations for things to do. - bed is really comfy and accommodation super clean - hot shower !!! - warm welcome from the family - Sheeva helps to organise all the activities as the place is strategically based in the center of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka : safari for elephants, sunset and sunrise at lion rocks and Pidurangala rock but also reply to a lot of requests that is really nice (example: he told me how to get to his place by local bus so I could avoid paying a lot in taxi as a solo young traveller it’s really nice) - quite area - interesting discussion with the owner to learn about Sri Lanka story - food available (but I would recommend to check price in advance just to know what you are going to pay) - host organised for me an Ayurvedic treatment that was so good - good quality for the services provided compared to the price paid

We loved our stay at Visu Villa. The owner was very welcoming and helpful since our arrival, he helped us organize all our excursions and he gave us great recommendations on where to go. We had an issue with the air conditioning in one of our rooms and he fixed it immediately. The breakfast was very good as well.

We had a fantastic two night stay at New Star Homestay hosted by Lasanta and his wife Gayini. It’s a beautiful serene place in a quiet, leafy part of Habarana. It is really peaceful - the garden has guava, mango, banana, custard-apple, and coconut trees - along with a variety of flowers and shrubs. Birds woke up in the morning with their songs!! The beds were very comfortable. AC worked great. Nice hot water in the shower. We also had home cooked dinners here. Gayini is an excellent cook! We ate our meals on the beautiful balcony-veranda with a cool breeze. We highly recommended this place and we will definitely be back.

What a beautiful garden and a lovely family! The hotel is located in what feels like a jungle. The hosts are so kind and friendly. The dinner was delicious, freshly made and so generous! Hotel is conveniently located at a walking distance from the main strip of Habarana where to pick from a selection of safaris, restaurants and activities to do in the area. The owners also offer to drive by tuk tuk if you're not the walking type. Such a great experience, we stayed an extra night. Oh and the coconut pancakes for breakfast were exceptional!!
