The easygoing and helpful hosts; the delicious meals that warms not just your stomach but your heart because every dish is cooked with love; the proximity it is to the wild sections of the Great Wall; the superb design of the property from an awesome common hall/dining area to heated floors (our room had it) to heated toilet seats etc; the comfortable bed and couch; the view of the Great Wall from the room… Ruirui patiently helped me with my enquiries while Xiao Wei hosted my children and I with much kindness, concern and consideration throughout our stay. She’s also the cook and we would slurp up everything she prepares. The calm and serene vibe this accommodation gives makes one wants to stay longer :) our first day we did a night walk of Simatai section Great Wall that included the cable car (expensive! But enjoyable)… second day we hiked up the wild Great Wall. I felt this pace was slow and lovely for my younger children.

All units in the homestay are fitted with a kettle. Units are fitted with a private bathroom with slippers, while selected rooms also feature a balcony and others also feature mountain views. At the homestay, the units are fitted with bed linen and towels. the stay exceeded my expectations. both hosts are welcoming, enthusiastic, and down to earth. when we arrived, we discussed our travel plans with the hosts and they gave us plenty of helpful suggestions and even offered driving service. after exploring jinshanling the next day, the host picked us up, gave us a quick tour around gubeikou town, sharing the beauty and history of the town, then sent us to the train station. breakfast was authentic and delicious (loved the soy milk, 油炸饼, and 疙瘩汤). overall, this was a wonderful start to our beijing trip, with comfy place, thoughtful hosts, and beautiful surroundings. highly recommend staying here. 10/10.

The property has mountain and inner courtyard views, and is 14 km from Great Wall of China - Jinshan Ridge. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. This homestay is by far my favourite place I’ve stayed in China. As a solo traveller it felt so nice to be in a family environment and feel at home. They make such an effort to be friendly and chat and I couldn’t have had a better time! They arranged everything for me and made breakfast and dinner which was all delicious! The rooms are also so nice and was a lovely place to relax after a day of hiking. The parts of the wall you can go to are also so so beautiful and so quiet if you are visiting the Great Wall I don’t think you could visit anywhere better than here! They also drop you off and pick you up and are available if you need any help. They are such fun and kind people and I was so sad to leave! Hope to be back one day to visit in the summer time :)

Everything , I’m writing this from the train station about to leave . The setting is perfect to go around the multiple parts of the Great Wall , there is one unrestored a short walk from the hotel . Honestly this place and its people are amazing . You will feel at home, they arrange everything for you and the food is delicious. It feels like home .

Situated in Beijing, 400 metres from Yonghegong Temple and 4 km from the centre, Goodnight hotel in the ancient Hutong features air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a terrace. The reception staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. We would recommend this stay for people who are backpacking or only need a few nights stay. There are washing machines and a tumble dryer on site which is very useful and the staff will take out the washing for you if you go out for the day. The location is a big plus point to this hotel with Lamas temple a short walk away, restaurants, coffee shops, casual bars and a metro stop. There is facilities to make up some easy food if you wanted to. The room itself is a satisfactory size.
