Julio was lovely and the place is as shown. A lovely basic homestay in the middle of nowhere. We were basically the only people staying when we came which was lovely but I can imagine it could feel crowded if it was busy. There's a small shop 2 mins walk through the jungle where you can buy staples but only occasionally has fruit/veg. You're in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do apart from admiring the beauty around you, perfect for what we wanted but don't expect lots to do! Can go swimming in the river.
Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi.

we liked the location a lot - close enough to walk to the centre but far enough away from the crazy traffic on the main street. the staff there is very friendly and helpful - we were able to book our boat ticket there for the same price as at the dock. the lady also called as us a tuktuk to get to the dock in the morning. very recommandable!
