They made me feel like at home, we had nice conversations and it was a great pleasure to stay with them for some days. My room was huge with a big balcony directly above the water - very cool! The location is not in the Flores Island but in San Miguel - so if you search for a calmer non touristic area that's your choice! From Flores it is easy to arrive with a small boat in about 5 mins. Also recommended to book the tour to Tikal etc. and transports with them, they offer for a good price. And it is helpful to know some Spanish as their English is limited (but Julio is learning!) 😊 muchas gracias 🥰

At the homestay, each unit has bed linen and towels. Rosario, the lead staff of Casa Maya Itza is incredibly helpful - she contacted us prior to our arrival & sent helpful information. We booked an airport transfer and she personally came to the airport to receive us! We booked Tikal sunrise and Yaxha sunset tours through her, the prices were the same as if you booked directly with the same tour company but we got shuttle service to fetch us at Casa Maya Itzu! Both tours were excellentl! We had breakfast - it was the best we had in Guatemala, it was carefully prepared and came with a big bowl of cut fruits. Our room has en suite bathroom, air-conditioner worked fast & cool, window view of the lake & sunset and there is free water from the water dispenser at the kitchen. Room is well clean by housekeeping ladies. This is a no frills, homey place with caring staff like Rosario. She woke up at 2.45am to ensure we set out at 3 am for Tikal sunrise tour and again saw us off at 6 am when we were picked up by shuttle for our bus into Belize. This place is an easy walk around the island and to the nearby mall. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an affordable base in Flores, with clean rooms, great breakfast and very caring & helpful staff! Many thanks to Rosario for a very memorable trip in Flores!

Great value for the price, would definitely recommend it to other travelers!

There are two comfy little kittens that sit outside and sun bathe. Also recommend booking the Tikal tour with them. Very well organized and pick up is so close by!

Full equipped kitchen with water filter, coffee sugar etc. Nice view of the lake. The apartment was very clean. The hosts were super responsive which was nice. Room had a/c which was also a plus. We got a free upgrade!
