We felt like family and like we were taken care of, looked after, with genuine kindness. The property was clean, smelled nice, no issues with mold (it’s frequent in India). Don’t bother looking at other properties, this is the one!

The first contact before my arrival was very supportive and fast. When I arrived, a very happy and friendly woman welcomed us, gave us the most comfortable option and always helped us whatever we needed. Location is perfect, close to the center and Mahabodhi Temple. Room is full of light.

Walking distance from Bodhi temple and complex. Mister Chachaji (I think that's how you write it) let me do early check-in and late check-out with no extra charges. I definitely recommend this place. As a female solo traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of.

My stay at Marina Homestay was one of my highlights of my India trip and I can highly recommend this stay to any foreigner looking for a clean and budget friendly stay. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed. The best part was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They helped me organise a complicated transportation to another city, took me to the city of Bodh Gaya with a motorbike and even invited me for breakfast and dinner. They also invited me to visit a local school which was a very cool experience.

Set in Gaya, 15 km from Mahabodhi Temple and 5.9 km from Vishnupad Temple, K D Homestay offers spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. Thai Monastery is 16 km from the homestay and Great Buddha Statue is 16 km away. We stayed here for 3 days. The property is enormous. The rooms and balcony are very spacious. Both the rooms have working A/C. Hot water system available 24 hrs. The access to the property is separate. The property was spotlessly clean and insect-free. There is a lot of legroom. The hosts were friendly, helped us book early morning auto rickshaws, and were knowledgeable about our general inquiries. We took our elderly mum with us, who needed special help occasionally, and they were very forthcoming and helpful. Thanks, Dimpy for being such a wonderful host.

Senamura Yoga Ashram Guesthouse is situated in Bodh Gaya, 2.8 km from Bodh Gaya Bus Station, 3.4 km from Thai Monastery, as well as 4.1 km from Great Buddha Statue. The property has garden and quiet street views, and is 2.8 km from Mahabodhi Temple. The property offers bike hire and features a garden and sun terrace. If you want to experience the local culture while supporting a good cause, this is the place to do so! We felt very welcome in the family and as we visited during the festival we got taken along to all the ceremonies the festival entails. This was a truly unique experience which we are very happy to have been a part of. Furthermore the guesthouse is next to the school it supports so you can easily pay a visit there too. The place is just outside of town, so this gives some peace from the busy city. But it can be reached easily by tuktuk (although you might need to help a bit with the navigation) from the temple area of bodh gaya. The guesthouse serves a simple but delicious breakfast and dinner as well as an assortment of hot drinks. Beds are basic but comfortable, so is the shower with reliable hot water. The guesthouse can also arrange other touristic excursions or transportation with a good driver and comfortable car. They are however not the cheapest option in this category.
