Yuki-san the owner of the guesthouse is one of the kindest and fun persons I met in Japan. Who cares so much of the well being of his guests. On top of that the guesthouse is so clean and cleaned by him everyday. Whenever you have questions you can ask him and he will help as much as he can. You can enjoy your stay and also if you like you can have nice and interesting talks about many topics with him. I will book this place at my next stay in Kagoshima again. 11 out of 10! Our room was spatious and had plenty room to hang our clothes after doing the laundry. The location was convenient with the bus stop right across the street and delicious meals in the neighborhood.

This is my second time staying with Taguchi and Hitomi san and as the 1st time, they are so nice and accommodating. They gave great suggestions ** i walked and climbed some difficult trails and it took me a total of 14hrs in2 days ** my legs ohh...hahha...and they also offered to pick you or send you to the port for your trip. They did their outmost best to make you feel at home which I said it did make me feel very welcome ^^ Clean and cosy...the room is big and the house is well designed.

Situated within 5.8 km of Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 20 km of Ebino Plateau, Guesthouse Coco Garage features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kirishima. This guest house has a garden and free private parking. The guest house features family rooms. We spent great moments here. Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

The hostel is in a great location and is quirky in a very good way. The best part was of course Satomi-san who goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and explain the activities of the island to you. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains do an excellent job at blocking out light at night. The hostel firmly falls into the rustic category and is very open, there is little privacy, but it has everything you need and more. If you are a neat freak, allergic to clutter or are after a some luxury, this isn’t the place for you.
