Nonna Milli was incredible- the beds were exceptionally comfortable, especially as Elia and his wife had them custom made for extra thickness. We woke up more comfortable than when we went to bed! The house is so beautifully kept and restored, with everything so well thought out- it felt very special staying in this house being our first time in Japan. Everything was immaculately clean. Sharing the bathroom was no problem at all, we didn’t even feel like it was a shared bathroom it was always available for us. A highly memorable experience in Matsumoto!

The property is beautiful with a great common room and kitchen with stunning views. The rooms are comfortable and all facilities are absolutely immaculately clean. The staff were a true highlight of the stay. they were all so incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything was just great and we plan to return next season.

This Guesthouse is amazing! Super clean, a cute lounge area with plenty of games and books, and spacious bed areas in the dorms. And the owners and staff are absolutely lovely. Also loved the half price drinks in the cafe downstairs.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and very comfortable bed! The location is quiet (which is what we were looking for), and yet not far from Echoland. We loved walking in the neighborhood.

Breakfast should order one day before. the host speaking fluent english and very helpfull. they told us where to buy lift ticket with 20% off.. that great when you spend a few days for skiing/snowboarding. wifi quite strong and fast.

Within about 30-40min walk you can get to the spots of interest in Iiyama (museums, shopping street, etc). I found the house to be spacious and clean. It felt like being at my parents' place. The hosts are very kind and caring. They can accomodate within reason pick up at Iiyama station. The hosts recommended me attractions of interest in Iiyama. I enjoyed them a lot. I went in a rainy day and so my things were wet. Especially my shoes, the hosts did their best at drying them without me having to ask or anything. They also provided a place to put my bicycle so it would be protected from the rain. In the morning, they shared home grown watermelon with me. In short, I felt welcomed and I had a warming experience. I absolutely recommend choosing this guest house.

The breakfast was good and served in a very relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice mix of Japanese and Western styles. With a good selection. The staff were always on hand to help out.

But what made our trip truly special was this hotel—it’s not just a place to stay but an experience in itself. The decor is absolutely beautiful, with so much thought put into every detail. From the fresh lilies that perfumed the reception to the quirky collection of local pepper cans (yes, we were obsessed!), every corner felt unique and welcoming. We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which was perfectly equipped and incredibly relaxing—a wonderful way to unwind after exploring. Although the hotel isn’t right next to Nagano Station, getting around was super easy with frequent buses and trains. On top of that, Mr. Haruhiko went above and beyond, offering to drive us to the nearest station whenever we needed—it’s this kind of thoughtfulness that really sets this place apart. What truly made our stay unforgettable were the hosts, Fumie and Haruhiko. Their kindness and attention to every guest were beyond anything we’ve experienced before. As a gay couple, we’re often careful when booking accommodations, but their acceptance and warmth made us feel completely at home from the start and all worries were settled. It’s hard to put into words just how much their hospitality meant to us. They didn’t just make our stay comfortable—they made it memorable in the best possible way. We left with full hearts, feeling truly cared for. If you’re thinking about booking this hotel, do it—you won’t regret it. Thank you, Fumie and Haruhiko, for an unforgettable stay, we will miss you.
